Mauricio Umansky Responds to Niece Paris Hilton Slamming Him

Mauricio Umansky reacts to niece Paris Hilton publicly slamming him after he called out her dad, Rick Hilton, for a bad business move in a preview for Buying Beverly Hills season 2.

“Look, it’s sad that she got so upset about that, but at the end of the day, it’s two businessmen making two business decisions,” Mauricio Umansky told Entertainment Tonight in a new interview.

“I felt like I deserved something. I asked for something, he didn’t want to do it, and then I chose to go off on my own,” he  continued.

“I wanted to take care of my family, I wanted to be successful, I wanted to go forward, I wanted to do the most I could, and at the end of the day, I made that decision just to go forward with this thing. There is certainly no bad blood on my side.”

In a preview for an upcoming episode of Buying Beverly Hills, Mauricio Umansky opens up about his fallout with the Hilton family which occurred when he left their Hilton & Hyland real estate company.

In the clip, Mauricio Umansky calls out brother-in-law Rick Hilton for screwing him over in the real estate business.

He explains that his fallout with Rick Hilton stems from his not being made a partner in the latter’s real estate agency, Hyland and Hilton, which ultimately led to him leaving to open his own real estate company, The Agency.

“I think I got kind of f–ked by Hilton & Hyland,” the real estate mogul revealed in a sneak peek of BBH.

“And when I say f–ked, you know, like, today I’m happy, but there was a hundred agents at Hilton & Hyland. They did a billion dollars for the first time a year. I was 19.6 percent of their production.”

According to Mauricio, he thought he deserved to be made partner due to the success he brought to his brother-in-law’s real estate company.

“I went to Rick, and I said, ‘I’d really like equity, right, and to be a partner,” he explained to several pals and colleagues.

However, he was ultimately told “no” after Rick Hilton spoke with his co-founder Jeff Hyland about making Mauricio a partner.

As a result, the 53-year-old knew he had to leave Hilton & Hyland and create his own real estate company, but before doing so, he ran the idea past his now-estranged wife, Kyle Richards, because he believed it might cause drama within the family.

“’This is really going to cause a lot of stress between you, your sister and your family, and I don’t want to do this move of leaving and starting a company if you’re not comfortable,’” Mauricio recalls telling Kyle, who is Kathy Hilton‘s youngest sister.

After Kyle gave Mauricio Umansky her seal of approval, he created The Agency, in 2011, which has become one of the top real estate agencies in the world and even has its own reality show, Buying Beverly Hills.

The bombshell prompted Paris Hilton to speak out in defense of her dad on social media.

“My father is a consummate gentleman and has always taken the higher road. He would never speak negatively about his family-especially in the press,” Paris wrote in the comments section of Queens of Bravo’s Instagram account.

“He would never speak negatively about his family- especially in the press,” the 43-year-old star continued. “Frankly we are all sick of him using the Hilton name every chance he gets to plug his lame show. It is enough already.”
