Kyle Richards explains why her separation from Mauricio Umansky will be discussed more in season 2 of Buying Beverly Hills instead of on RHOBH.
Some Bravo fans were pretty confused when they watched the trailer for season 2 of Buying Beverly Hills.
Fans feel upset after learning that Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky’s marriage troubles would be on full display throughout season 2 of Buying Beverly Hills, while Bravo fans only got a tiny peek at their issues during season 13 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
This naturally got fans in a tizzy as they diligently watched season 13 of RHOBH in hopes of seeing the drama between Mauricio and Kyle, which was primarily undelivered despite the two having an emotional sit down with their daughters during the season finale.
So when the trailer for season 2 of Netflix’s Buying Beverly Hills dropped days later, fans had a sour taste in their mouth to see that Kyle and Mauricio’s marital drama would be on full display throughout the season.
Now, Kyle Richards explains why season 2 of Buying Beverly Hills will feature more scenes about her and Mauricio’s split.
During an Amazon Live, the RHOBH OG explained that she and Mauricio’s decision to separate “happened after we were done filming” for season 13.
Fans may recall that Bravo resumed filming in July once the news of Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky’s separation broke in the press.
The 55-year-old noted, “The story came out, and then the Netflix cameras happened to be in Aspen.”
Because of this, Netflix “ended up filming with us talking about it.”
However, Kyle Richards admits she was loyal to Bravo and RHOBH fans, so she agreed to resume filming to document parts of the separation for season 13.
“Obviously, Bravo has been following my life for 13 years. It’s not like [Netflix] can film that scene [for Buying Beverly Hills], and then I don’t share it with the viewers of The Housewives,” she explained.
Kyle added, “We ended up shooting both of those scenes for Buying Beverly Hills and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills after we were all wrapped.”
The RHOBH couple wed in 1996. They share daughters Alexia, 27, Sophia, 23, and Portia, 15. Mauricio is also stepfather to Kyle’s daughter Farrah Aldjufrie, 34, from her first marriage to Guraish Aldjufrie.
Part three of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 13 reunion airs March 13 at 8 p.m. on Bravo.
