Pump Rules alum Brittany Cartwright didn’t make any money during season 4 until the very end despite being heavily featured on the show.
Brittany Cartwright reveals that her bank account didn’t reflect the effort she put into her first season of Pump Rules. The former SURver and her husband, Jax Taylor, claim that Brittany made hardly any money during her first season on the show.
The Kentucky native joined Vanderump Rules in 2015 during season 4 and would go on to star on the show until 2020.
“I didn’t get paid my first season of Vanderpump Rules — until the very, very end. I was broke,” the 34-year-old revealed on her and Jax’s “When Reality Hits” podcast. “It took a lot out of me.”
The couple, who tied the knot in 2019, went on to explain how much money they put out during the early days of their relationship in order for Brittany to be a part of the show.
Jax explains that Brittany eventually had to relocate from Kentucky to Los Angeles full-time because going back and forth was killing her financially.
“It was costing her,” he shared. “This is the beginning of the show, and it was costing her $800 to $900. She was in Kentucky [working at a bar and Hooters], and $800 is a lot of money [to spend on airfare].”
“It was like three months in,” Brittany added. “Because I had to work, I was going back and forth to see you. I was at work for a week and then would see you the next week. It was like two months.”
This revelation from Jax and Brittany comes just days after co-star Kristen Doute revealed how little the OG Pump Rules cast made during season one of the show.
“We had very little in our bank account,” Kirsten said on July 27. “It was $5,000, and if we became a primary, we got an additional $5,000.”
Jax, Brittany, and Kristen are currently in the midst of filming the much-anticipated Pump Rules spinoff show along with their new co-stars. Meanwhile, the Pump Rules cast is currently in the final weeks of filming season 11.
Both shows are expected to air on Bravo in 2024.
