The ladies of RHONY are back in the city and are now forced to deal with the aftermath of their trip to the Hamptons. Let’s break it all down.
This week’s episode of RHONY kicks off with the ladies wrapping up their trip to the Hamptons. The ladies all wake up caught somewhere between hungover and hungry after their intense game of Two Truths and a Lie and their late-night heart-to-heart by the fire.
Erin Lichy finally gets the chance to make her much-discussed shakshuka to soak up all the booze from the night before. Jenna Lyons helps Erin in the kitchen and puts a very Jenna twist on cooking, which means washing tomatoes with half a million dollars worth of diamonds on her wrist.
Everyone enjoys their breakfast with only a few complaints. Of course, Sai De Silva has something to complain about when it comes to Erin’s shakshuka. It seems like Erin can’t do anything right in Sai’s mind. The group pairs Ubah Hassan’s hot sauce, Ubah Hot, with breakfast as they discuss their plans for Thanksgiving.
Sai reveals she’s heading to Califonia for Thanksgiving with her family while Erin will be in the Hamptons at her in-law’s house, who live about ten minutes away. Jenna confesses that she could never live that close to her in-laws and have them just popping in whenever, but Brynn Whitfield says she would love it. The 36-year-old then opens up about her childhood, admitting that she never really had a family.
Brynn admits she would love an overbearing mother-in-law since she never had real parents of her own. She was raised by her grandmother, along with her brother and sister, in Indiana. It’s clear that Brynn had a rough childhood as she explains her grandmother adopted her and her siblings after their parents bailed on them. The group quickly realizes that Brynn’s childhood was rougher than any of them could have imagined.
As for her Thanksgiving plans, Brynn is going to London with her ex-fiance Gideon. In her confessional, Brynn admits she desperately wants a family of her own and kids. Hopefully, she will get that one day soon.
Back in the city, Erin checks in on a renovation project she is overseeing. She reveals her family has a long history in the real estate business, so it was a natural fit for her to go into that field of work.
Brynn heads straight to the hair salon, where she opens up about growing up bi-racial in an all-white community. Although her father is black, Brynn was raised by her white grandmother, who had no idea how to do her hair. It wasn’t until she was a teenager and went to a black hair salon that she felt connected to that side of herself and the black community.
At the same time, Ubah visits her mentor for some life and business advice. Ubah breaks down over missing the love of her late mother and how to move forward with her company.
Meanwhile, Jessel Taank attempts to address her intimacy issues with her husband. Jessel’s husband admits she can come across as a little bit “bitchy” at times with her tone. Speaking of Jessel, Jenna reveals to Erin that Jessel had quite a bit to say about the group trip to the Hamptons. According to Jenna, Jessel called several of the women “cackling hags” who were “ganging up” on her. Jenna thinks that Jessel is trying too hard with the group, while Erin thinks she just needs to get f–ked.
Sai decides to host a “Brynnsgiving” dinner party to help cheer up Brynn and suggests the party can just be them masking their emotions with booze.
At Brynnsgiving, Brynn is the first to arrive. In typical Brynn fashion, she shows up on the prowl and begins flirting with the chef and bartender, who, unfortunately, are both taken.
As the ladies sit down for dinner, they begin to discuss the lady of the hour: Brynn. Erin asks, “How are you doing, are you good?” to which Brynn, who is clearly putting on a fake smile and fighting back tears, replies: “I don’t wanna do it.”
Brynn is so emotional and upset that she can’t even answer any of the producer’s questions in her confession interview.
However, Brynn decides to share with the ladies the harsh reality of her traumatic childhood.
“The bad stuff was super, super fucked up,” Brynn tells the group. “There was abuse and neglect. I wasn’t picked up for six days; my diaper wasn’t changed.”
This shocking revelation takes a toll on the whole group, who are all fighting back tears. As tears begin to stream down everyone’s faces, “To Be Continued…” flashes across the screen.
End episode. The RHONY drama continues next week.
