Lisa Rinna, star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, joined Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen to discuss everything about the Real Housewives. Lisa is a well known actress, as is her husband Harry Hamlin. She had appeared on the RHOBH prior to officially being a member of the cast. However; it turns out Lisa Rinna was almost an OG!
It turns out, Lisa auditioned for the first season of the RHOBH! Andy said, “We talked to you at the beginning, we did talk to Lisa in the beginning, season one and put her on tape. And I felt very strongly, that for better or worse, that I felt like it was, I didn’t get it. I felt like it should be all unknown people, even though Kim and Kyle had acted years before – whatever. I felt like Lisa Rinna was too much of a personality and name.” He added, “And then by the way, when you did join I was like ‘it is time for Lisa Rinna to join.’ You had been on this show, I knew that you knew the women, you had a long history. I just felt that the show needed to establish itself on its own, before in my mind I could ever picture it.” Lisa agreed and said that she understood that. “You’re all good now,” she said.
Lisa added, “Everything happens for a reason, always.”
Not only was Lisa on the RHOBH prior to joining the cast, she also was on The Real Housewives of New York! Lisa made an appearance during the third season of the RHONY. “You know, I was on New York housewives before I was ever,” Lisa started to explain. Andy added, “Season two, episode seven.” Andy meant season three. Lisa gushed, “Thank you! Hello!” This was the episode where Bethenny Frankel called Luann De Lesseps a “snake” at the New York Fashion Week show they were attending. Lisa said, “I was wearing a red Diane Von Furstenberg dress” and she sat right in between Kelly Killoren Bensimon and Bethenny who weren’t getting along. That was a good episode!
Since becoming one of the Real Housewives, has Lisa changed over the course of the show? She explained, “Well, I hope that I evolve and grow. That is the goal. I try, I hope I have. Yes of course I have.”
Lisa also helped out her friend Denise Richards, who is the newbie this season on the RHOBH. “I gave her every single secret, piece of advice, everything that I know, I gave Denise Richards. And she knows it. I gave her everything.” Talk about being a good friend!
I wonder what the show would have been like if Lisa Rinna had been on it from the start! I agree with them though, it worked out good this way. I’m glad Lisa Rinna joined the cast, she’s entertaining and is always “owning it!” I totally remember that episode of the RHONY and how Lisa had to sit in between them. LOL! Good times!
