RHONJ alum Lauren Manzo fired back at a body shamer who dubbed her recent weight loss “sad.”
Lauren, who has been vocal about her weight loss journey for more than decade, shared a TikTok last week where she opened up about not having an appetite while dealing with a sinus infection.
A troll commented on the video: “Oh crap I didn’t know who this was. Sad…”
The 35-year-old daughter of RHONJ OG Caroline Manzo followed up immediately with another video in which she said, “What’s sad? Like, is it sad that I’m finally at a healthy weight? I’m just confused.”
While eating Lauren admitted that she was “so sick of these comments” which according to her made “no sense.”
“I’m 5 foot, 3 inches and 115 pounds. The only thing I need to do to make myself healthier is build muscle,” she explained before jokingly adding, “which I admit I’m too lazy to do.”
Lauren, who shared in her previous video that she had lost more weight while recovering from the sinus infection, said that no one would be questioning her current body if she had always been that size.
The mom of one went on to say that no one would be question her body or weight if she had always been small instead of struggling with her weight for most of her life.
“I don’t look sick. I even gained a couple pounds, and as long as I feel good, I’m OK,” she said. “I’m fine. This isn’t sad. I just ate a ciabatta sandwich with a bunch of deli meat on it, a load of mayonnaise and Fritos. I’m fine.”
Fans of the Real Housewives of New Jersey have seen Caroline Manzo‘s daughter, Lauren Manzo, struggle with her weight from the show’s inception in 2009.
Any OG viewer of RHONJ remembers Caroline describing Lauren as “eight pounds of sausage in a five-pound bag” amid her struggle to lose weight via dieting and exercise.
Eventually, Lauren dropped thirty pounds after getting Lapband surgery in September 2011.
Getting the lap band was the best thing I’ve ever done in my life.When I first got it, I didn’t want to tell anybody. So many fans related to my struggle, I didn’t want to feel like I was letting them down.

In February 2023, Lauren revealed that she dropped 50 pounds over the last three years after removing her Lapband in late 2019.
Lauren explained that she removed her Lapband because “it slipped, which is super dangerous.”
Since starting the weight loss drug Mounjaro in January 2023 Lauren has dropped a total of 90 pounds and currently weighs between 115 and 120 pounds.
Within the last several months, RHONJ fans have started criticizing Lauren’s weight loss, as a result the 35-year-old started clapping back on TikTok in January.
According to Lauren, she’s the healthiest she has ever been and is under the watchful care of two doctors – her regular physical and a functional medicine doctor.
On TikTok, Lauren Manzo shared:
“People are on here saying they’re concerned for me and stuff like that. I have doctors for that. I have a primary doctor who feels that I am at a healthy weight.
I am not having any issues as far as my weight goes. I am very comfortable with where I am, and not for anything, but when I was 210 pounds, I was just talked about for being too fat. And even when I was 160 pounds, everyone said that I was still fat.”
“Because I’m not fat anymore. Now I’m unhealthy. I’m just sick of people judging me for being too fat and being too skinny. I mean, right now, I’m healthy,” the 34-year-old added.
“I’m happy. I’m healthy. And if I were this weight my whole life, just like any other housewife daughter that is skinny or any other housewife themselves that skinny. No one would have anything to say,” Lauren insisted.
