Andy Cohen admits that RHONJ is a major “crossroads” amid Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga‘s ongoing family drama.

The Big Daddy of Bravo knows that the RHONJ franchise is at a major “crossroads” thanks toteresa giudice and Melissa gjorga’s irreparable issues. The question on every Bravo fan’s mind is: How does the RHONJ franchise move forward without rehashing Melissa and Teresa’s played-out drama?

Andy admits that Teresa and Melissa’s feud is giving Bravo a lot to think about as they prepare for season 14 of RHONJ.

He chatted about this conundrum on his BFF Kelly Ripa’s new SiriusXM podcast,  Let’s Talk Off Camera.

The 54-year-old Watch What Happens Live host explains:

“There are several options. They’re both really popular. I think they’re both walking around with the institutional knowledge that they both have and the institutional hurt feelings, especially Teresa.”

 “Teresa let out at the last reunion that she was mad at Melissa for not changing her wedding date because Teresa was pregnant at her wedding and she was a bridesmaid. She didn’t like how she looked. So this is now going back for 15 years.”

He notes that Teresa is “clearly not over” feeling hurt about Melissa and Joe Gorga.

Andy continued:

“I think what’s interesting about it is… they’re both a little right. I think they both have really good points, and I think that’s why it’s not so clearly cut about whose side to be on.“

It’s no secret that Melissa and Joe’s decision to skip Teresa’s August 2022 wedding to Louie Ruelas was the last nail in the coffin of her up-and-down relationship with the Gorgas.

While Teresa and Louie wish Melissa and Joe well, Teresa notes that they are focusing on their own children and family moving forward.

“I wish them well,” Teresa told ET in August 2022. “I just want to focus on our family, our children.”

“It’s a lot of energy spent on things that aren’t important in life,” Louie added, “so we’re here, we’re married, our kids are amazing, our family’s doing really well, and that’s where our focus is.”

At the time, Teresa made it clear she had no immediate plans to reconcile with Joe or Melissa.

“I’m not even thinking about that,” she said. “I’m thinking about just what’s good for me. It’s been a long time that I’ve been dealing with this, a long time, so I just want peace and happiness, and I just want to focus on our family, ’cause, like, all that is, like, negative energy that I don’t need in my life.”

Since then, Teresa has stated that she is “done” with the Gorgas and their long-running family drama. Teresa adds that she doesn’t want to interact with or see Melissa ever again, which leaves Bravo in quite a pickle when it comes to the future of RHONJ.

In recent weeks, both Melissa and Teresa have announced that they each have zero intention of walking away from RHONJ on their own accord.

“I’ve been reading a lot of things saying that I wanna leave the show or I’m no longer going to be on the show. I just want everyone to know, I’m not leaving the show,” Melissa said on the May 4 episode of her “On Display” podcast.

Melissa emphasized that she has “no intentions [of] leaving” RHONJ, which she joined in 2011 during season 3.

As for Teresa, she told Extra‘s Billy Bush in May that she “needs” to come back to RHONJ for season 14 but doesn’t know if she’s locked in yet.

“I need to come back. I have four daughters — one’s going to law school! I don’t even know if I’m coming back! I don’t know if I’m locked in! I gotta check with my lawyer.”

She quickly added: “Hello, I started the show.”

Part two of the RHONJ season 13 reunion airs on Tuesday, June 6 at 8 pm on Bravo.

Melissa doesn’t own anything she did because it would make her look bad. She did something foul by coming on a show to hurt Tre. Tre will never get over that like most people. Melissa and Joey took it too far- they are terrible family members- they sold themselves out for fame and money. The family drama is played out. Bravo did this to themselves. Melissa should be gone or a “ friend of.”

imagine wanting someone to change their wedding date after everything has been planned and booked. and then not getting over it for 15 years. talk about a self-centered narcissist. And then imagine getting an opportunity to make money and a career in tv, with a lot of opportunities that go with it and not wanting your sibling to get the same opportunities. Teresa just doesn't want to share the spotlight with anyone, no matter who it is. And If Teresa can't even get over the wedding date thing, she should really get therapy.

While watching old seasons, I noticed there have been 3 times (so far) when she has said she wanted to change her behavior with the last time this season with Luis trying to train her. You must block out Luis' parts!! Meanwhile, Joe said Teresa made them promise not to bring it up. She did on the spur of the moment, desperately grasping for something to attack him with. Luis remembered why it wasn't supposed to be brought up (because they look like greedy fools) and said nothing except some double talk about not being able to talk to him after someone asked him. It was the stupid and greedy ones who jumped on it and left Joe out. When he found out they went ahead and bought them, changed the name and were making ads, Joe was upset. So they offered him 5% and he said no thanks. They were greedy fools. If Joe was only worth 5% then they should have been able to make a profit without him EXCEPT it was a stupid idea. Greed made them eat it all by themselves. He had a dumb idea, they took it and ran and then suffered the consequences!! That is funny. Then somehow they blame him. That is pathetic. If they had been normal, they would have shared in the losses. Perhaps if they kept the name, there would have been fewer losses. Let that sink in. This is an example of why Gia said everything was fine until Luis came along. He is bad news.

I don’t think Teresa and the daughters are being cut after such a highly rated wedding show, that barely was advertised by Bravo until the last week of the season. Teresa got out there and hustled and did all the Tv interviews and promotions for it on her own to increase the viewership. The Finale and reunions were promoted constantly by Bravo but the wedding special not as much. So if it pulled in rating in the low 800,000 viewersip, like many regular episodes this season, any one at Bravo who is not a fan of Teresa had the ammo to take her off the show. Instead she brought in the super high ratings featuring her and the girls pretty much exclusively with a little Jen and Delores. It was also glimpse of the old Terese again which was entertaining and if there could be more of that in the show the ratings would be so much higher, instead of stressed, on edge ready to fight with Joe and Melissa “Teresa” which is so boring at this point, repetitive and adds nothing. It is what the reunions are offering up again—-Boring, with a capital B. If it is not going to be the funny, entertaining Teresa from the wedding special, and earlier seasons, it won’t work. Melissa would benefit from coming out of her shell more too and worry less about fighting with Teresa and just be a cast member fully. Stop letting Joe steal her shine.

You have well thought out comments but you aren't factoring in Luis, IMO. The plan was wedding special and then spin off, for Luis. They could have the spinoff (as long as they take Jennifer A and Danielle) with more of the same Teresa and now Luis (ick). They could then add new people to the old show who are less annoying, narcissistic and trashy. It would be interesting to see what the viewers want.

Sorry. I can’t get over the fact that if my brother and sister in law came into the show without me knowing I’ll still be pissed. In addition to knowing there was already drama prior to the show. Then they brought even more drama! If everyone/viewers thinks about their own in laws and if in laws joined their work I bet the viewers would totally get Teresa.

I totally agree. And one thing I think Andy needs to consider in making his decision for the next season is the fact that HE himself has responsibility in the demise of this family. First.... by allowing the Gorga's on the show behind T's back in the first place and then by continuing to encourage the drama within the family over all these years. Teresa started the show and she is the reason why so many fans have continued to watch year after year. She is the one that needs to stay imo and Messy needs to go. Perhaps she can restart that "singing" career she pretended to want so badly.

I have stopped watching because of Teresa. Her lying and inability to accept that she went to prison because she broke the law did it for me. I can't believe that Teresa actually expected Melissa to change her wedding date because she was pregnant. Just one example of how big this woman's ego is. BRAVO made a big mistake by enabling her.

Andy did his job by exploiting and enough people watched. If they keep her, it will be to exploit the implosion of the marriage, however I think the odds are in favor of getting rid of her BECAUSE of Luis. I also think Melissa finally got it she will never have a singing career!!

Absolutely Bravo knew what they were doing that Teresa was popular and they had a family member that was jealous of that popularity and wanted a piece of it. It is the oldest story going back to the Bible for gosh sakes. The problem is they have just fueled it season and after season and have never let up and moved on to other cast members. There is no excuse why they did not bring Laura J. On for example this season and let Marge take some heat instead of another repeat season of T vs. M. Bravo has just gone back to the well way too many times and now they have broke their cast members and tanked the ratings because the long time fans who have been with them since the first season walked away because they were so tired of watching the same repeat fights of Teresa vs. Mel. If Bravo producers would have had Marge been the target this season it would have brought something new. Or even bring on an old friend of Melissa as a friend that has a beef, anything different, but Bravo just refused to mix it up. That was their downfall, 100% that has got them there. Now to move forward.. - if you bring everyone back Marge or Mel have to have a friend that comes on to make them uncomfortable for once. It will twist things up finally. What has been the fall out on Marge losing her best friend etc and fighting with her in the media… Teresa, Jen, Danielle and Delores can film some trips and and adventures on their own bringing back some fun and humor to the show. Teresa can visit Gabriella in Michigan. Melissa can take a trip to Delaware to see Antonia. Maybe even film Teresa visiting Jaqueline in Vegas. It can be done.

Then for the ultimate Andy Springer experience, there would be Luis. Hum...it could work for a season and I suppose people would watch.

There is a disconnect for sure. That may be how people excused her and felt sorry for her in the beginning but she is cunning and devious when going after people. She has vendettas. Part of it is she is "acting" for what she thinks the job is and part of it is she is calculating. The show exploited her. She went along with it. She assumes others are as nasty and hateful as she is so she tries to take them down first. Just the fact that she would actually try to destroy her brother's marriage over and over just to get him off the show is plenty of evidence. Her stupidity and enormous ego let her fall for Luis' con. Her dishonesty and greed landed her in prison. She is a convicted liar. No excuses. Luis will be her ruin and many will think she deserves it. Who knows, she may outsmart Luis but I doubt it. He will figure out a way to make himself the victim when the time comes, IMO. Even if that happened, no sympathy for her.

A reasonable person would deal with it and not let them if it were true and they were actually showing signs of trying to "take her down". If that were true, everyone on the show except Dina and Dolores was trying to "take her down". Maybe that is how the dummy interpreted the fact that they called her out when she was wrong. She could have quit if it was so bad. Obviously Bravo hired them to provoke her into showing her mean, dumb selfish side and she obliged over and over. She was constantly trying to run them off and they were on the defense.

Or the restaurant staff who had to clean that up. Mature adults don’t have to be devious. That is a ridiculous idea. Her brother has been married 18 years & even after spreading gossip about Jackie’s marriage & it backfiring on Teresa, she does it again the following season with her brother & Melissa. Why does Teresa feel the need to spread ugly rumors about someone else’s marriage? Twice?

Teresa is a liar. That is why she went to “camp “. She & her ex were convicted of 41 counts of being dishonest, unethical, deceptive by committing fraud to obtain between 5-10 million dollars. 41 is the number of charges, honest ethical people don’t lie in bankruptcy court, hide assets, or sign fraudulent paperwork .They were convicted of bank, mail, wire, & bankruptcy fraud. So yes Teresa is a liar and so is her ex husband

The problem is, in most jobs when one disrupts like she does and then gets convicted of felonies, that person is fired. How can anyone blame them for taking the opportunity to work at a job they were sought out for. But it’s not Teresa’s show. Why wouldn’t you want your sibling & his wife to share in the good fortune. Teresa didn’t want to share the spotlight. Pettiness is the issue for Teresa. If Teresa didn’t want drama then there wouldn’t be drama. Teresa is all about drama, she cannot control her outbursts from table flipping, shoving people, throwing drinks. Teresa has anger management issues. Teresa has had issues with Danielle, Jacqueline, Melissa, Amber, the twins, Siggy, Kim G, Kim D, Margaret, Kathy, Rosie, Caroline and Jackie., but poor misunderstood Teresa!! Did you all catch the episode where Joe Guidice called Melissa horse face in front of his daughters & Teresa. Teresa said absolutely nothing in return, that’s the kind of parents they are, the kind of parents who commit 41 counts of fraud but blame “ someone “ for turning them in. How many people have Teresa & Joe blamed for reporting them for crimes that they actually committed. No one lied about what the Guidice’s did. How people can defend Teresa or Joe Guidice is beyond reason. They were guilty!!

Then why is she still dwelling on Melissa coming on the show 12 years ago, and she's still looking for someone to blame for ratting her and Juicy out for committing crimes? She hasn't moved on from anything, rinse and repeat. She was raised by a champion grudge holder, and sadly her and her dorters are just carrying on the Gorga tradition.

Honestly I think someone is getting demoted for budget reasons. They added one full-time housewives and one friend-of. Melissa and Marge haven’t had a story line in years and they’re getting paid a lot of money. I think they may be considering this as a factor for next year.

Or how about the opposite? I think firing the Giudices or the Gorgas or all four of them is the only way to go. It is probably going to lean toward Teresa because of Luis. Otherwise they'll end up scrapping it, especially if the new NY is a success (I don't think it will be but who knows).

Melissa's whole idea to get on the show was to disrupt Teresa. She was offering to give Danielle some support in her war with Tre. That was her hook. Not that she was fun or interesting or successful or anything, just that she would "expose" Tre, a HW that people were loving. She came on the show jealous and evil and that has been her storyline ever since.
