According to a new report from In Touch Weekly, Melissa Gorga is “desperate” to keep her job on the Real Housewives of New Jersey.
The 44-year-old Melissa Gorga and her husband, Joe Gorga, are willing to do anything to stay on RHONJ, including starting a social media feud with their niece Gia Giudice.
According to a source, there’s an ulterior motive behind Melissa’s recent social media feud with Gia.
An insider explains:
“Melissa Gorga and Joe [Gorga] are just desperately trying to stir up any drama so they can stay on Bravo. For a 40+ year old woman to be starting feuds with little girls on social media screams desperation and pettiness.”
As AllAboutTRH previously reported, Gia recently revealed on her mom Teresa Giudice‘s podcast, Namaste B$tches podcast, that Melissa Gorga blocked her on Instagram.
Gia claimed:
“It was just weird. One day, I guess, somebody told me she posted something about me, so I went to go look, and I was like, ‘I’m blocked on everything,’ so I’m blocked from everything from her.”
Apparently, Melissa took things a step further and blocked all of Gia’s Instagram accounts, including her private account, public account, and business account.
Gia and Melissa do not currently follow each other on Instagram. In fact, Melissa Gorga doesn’t follow any of her nieces on Instagram, with the exception of her goddaughter, Gabriella Giudice.
Meanwhile, a source close to production also confirmed to In Touch Weekly that casting “decisions on next season have not been made.”
On Friday, AllAboutTRH exclusively reported that Bravo put RHONJ on “pause” for the summer – meaning they won’t follow their normal filming schedule.
Filming for season 14 of Real Housewives of New Jersey won’t begin until the fall – our sources are telling us filming could begin as early as September, but it’s more likely that filming will take place from October to December.
The plan is for RHONJ to return to its roots a bit and be a more “family-oriented” show once again. With Bravo switching up the filming schedule for RHONJ, this will help freshen up the franchise even if they don’t make any serious casting changes for season 14.
Sources tell AllAboutTRH that Bravo plans to give fans a breather from the franchise as they spend the next few months figuring out casting. Most likely, everyone in the cast will be back for season 14, but Bravo knows that fans are over the drama between Teresa and the Gorgas. The network needs to see if they can find a way to have Teresa and the Gorgas coexist on the show without their family feud taking center stage.

Why am I not surprised that Melissa and Joe are doing anything and everything they can to stay on RHONJ? They are so desperate for the fame and money that comes with the show. I think Melissa and Joe are busy plotting how they can ensure they stay on RHONJ as Bravo figures things out with the franchise. I have a feeling they will be spending the summer bashing Louie Ruelas, Teresa, and her girls in order to secure their spot for season 14.
It’s going to get ugly in the Garden State – I can feel it. Fans are over Melissa and Joe fighting with Teresa, but that doesn’t mean they won’t pivot and go after Gia and her sisters if it means keeping their spot on RHONJ.
The season 13 finale episode of RHONJ airs on Tuesday at 8 pm on Bravo.
