Bethenny Frankel Cancels ‘Dumpster Fire’ ReWives Podcast

Bethenny Frankel’s ReWives podcast is dunzo! The Real Housewives of New York alum has announced that her ReWives podcast has been canceled.

The Skinnygirl mogul broke the news on the farewell episode of her ReWives podcast dubbed “It’s Me…I’m the Problem. It’s Me.”

The episode started with a rare moment of self-reflection on Bethenny Frankel’s part as she owned up to being part of the Bravo problem by dissecting messy headlines.

“As of late, there has been so much dirt and garbage and crap, like a dark cloud over this space, this medium, this vehicle in entertainment,” Bethenny explained before admitting she thought that ReWives would be “good for business.”

However, she says that once she began interviewing Bravo stars, her opinion on it all started to change.

“It got dirtier, then it got toxic and now it’s the worst version of a toxic dumpster fire and I don’t want to be associated with it in any way and I don’t want to talk about it,” Bethenny continued. “I want to work on shows and projects that my daughter would be proud of. That are a good role model for her. That are a good examples for her and for other women.”

Bethenny Frankel announced the launch of her Rewives podcast in late 2022. At the time, Bethenny received criticism from several of her former RHONY co-stars and Andy Cohen over the podcast as she spent the months prior bashing Bravo and Real Housewives.

Carole Radziwill and Luann de Lesseps threw shade at Bethenny’s ReWives podcast following its announcement earlier this month.

“Right, and if she s–ts on the show, that means she’s gonna s–t on us on her little podcast about the ‘Housewives,’” Luann said about Bethenny Frankel’s Housewives podcast on a November 2022 episode of Danny Pellegrino’s ‘Everything Iconic,’ podcast. “It’s pretty sad and pathetic that she has to resort to ‘Housewives’ because of all of her failed pivots since the ‘Housewives.’”

The Countess called Bethenny’s podcast a pretty desperate scenario.”

Carole, on the other hand, tweeted: “Oh lordy…how original. But she did build her brand by trashing & mocking women; specifically, the HWs & Bethenny always returns to what she does best. I mean, right out the gate, she trash-talks the other HW podcasts. Lol. Good luck to her. Some things will never change.”

That same month, Andy Cohen bashed Bethenny Frankel’s decision to do a Real Housewives podcast after she spent the last few years “trashing” the franchise.

“I was surprised at that because she’s been trashing the show for the last three years,” Andy said on his Sirius XM radio show, Radio Andy, in 2022. “So I was like, ‘She’s been talking about that it’s toxic,’ and it’s this and every bad thing you can think she has been quoted saying about the show … and now she’s doing a ‘Housewives’ recap podcast.”

“I see her quotes, especially when they are negative about the show. So that’s why I was surprised,” he added.

At the time, the Skinnygirl mogul reacted to the negative comments about her ReWives podcast.

“I’m sorry they are having a hard time with this … it makes sense. It is already very successful. It’s an incredible idea. It’s got buzz. It’s interesting,” Bethenny Frankel told Access Hollywood‘s Housewives Nightcap podcast.

“I can’t apologize for having great ideas and for being successful,” she continued. “I’ve tried to do that for so many years. Part of the reason I left ‘RHONY’ was having to do with feeling self-conscious about my success and the great opportunities that I have had first … and that other people have been inspired by and done themselves.”

It’s unclear when the Real Housewives of New York will return for season 15 or when filming will begin. RHONY Legacy is currently airing on Peacock.
