Bethenny Frankel is clapping back at Andy Cohen’s recent criticism of her new Real Housewives podcast, ReWives.
The Bravo honcho recently bashed Bethenny’s decision to do a Real Housewives podcast after she spent the last few years “trashing” the franchise.
“I was surprised at that because she’s been trashing the show for the last three years,” he said on his Sirius XM radio show, “Radio Andy.” “So I was like, ‘She’s been talking about that it’s toxic,’ and it’s this and every bad thing you can think she has been quoted saying about the show … and now she’s doing a ‘Housewives’ recap podcast.”
“I see her quotes, especially when they are negative about the show. So that’s why I was surprised,” he added.
Despite Andy’s criticism, the Real Housewives of New York alum believes she has every right to continue to share her experience within the Housewives franchise.
“I have a right to talk about my experience,” said Bethenny in a clip on Instagram. “I didn’t know I was in The Handmaid’s Tale, and Housewives and Housewives hosts are gonna scold me because I did think it was toxic.”
She added, “I am allowed to talk about my former life.”
In the caption, Bethenny wrote, “I’m clapping back at the notion that I should be silenced in talking about the housewives.”
The Skinnygirl mogul then spoke directly to her former Bravo boss: “Andy & I are friends & have talked about this franchise ad nauseam for over a decade. I’m not a disgruntled, fired housewife grinding axes. It was 1/4 of my life & launched my career.”
“I left on my terms,” she continued. “I’m a happy mother reflecting on the good old days of the housewives. Sorry to disappoint-it’s not toxic, it’s not trashing, it’s true & it’s tracking.”
