Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky get candid about their marriage woes while the RHOBH OG reveals why she may leave a marriage that no longer makes her happy.

On Wednesday’s episode of RHOBH, Kyle Richards admitted that she and her husband, Mauricio Umansky, have been going to therapy after facing a difficult year in their marriage.

While opening up to friend and co-star Sutton Stracke about her marriage, Kyle revealed that her and Mauricio’s busy schedules “created so much time apart” from each other.

Despite the space and tension the time a part has caused in their marriage, Kyle notes that Mauricio refused to say no to his work.

Sutton suggested that the RHOBH couple agree to “turn down” opportunities that would keep them a part from each other.

Kyle replied “I don’t have to,” before elaborating on why she doesn’t want to be the only one compromising anymore.

“I’ve made sacrifices and compromises,” the actress explained in her confessional. “I’ve been a really good wife and a great mom and I’ve supported him through everything, I want to feel that Mo is prioritizing me as much as I have him all of these years.”

The RHOBH OG explained how she’s always been the one responsible for taking their kids to all their appointments and activities so that Mauricio could focus on growing his real estate empire, The Agency.

“So now I have the freedom to be able to do some things for me, and I like it,” Kyle told Sutton, noting that now she is finally able to focus on her passions. “I don’t want to not do them because one day, my kids will be all gone from the house and then what am I going to have? I don’t want to be where my husband is up here and I’m down here.”

“I want to have my life too. It just feels good to be independent,” she added.

Later on in the episode, Kyle and Mauricio had a candid discussion about their marriage and the decision to attend couple’s counseling.

Kyle admits that going to counseling together has been  a “great comfort.”  Shen the tells the cameras:

“I thought it was important to go to couple’s therapy because the more difficult things get between us, the more difficult it has been to communicate.”

Mauricio agreed before calling therapy “fun” which rubbed Kyle the wrong way. “I wasn’t laughing in those sessions,” the Bravoleb quipped.

The real estate mogul says that going to therapy has allowed him to be more “more in tune with myself.” Kyle points out that she hopes therapy is also allowing Mauricio to “reflect.”

“All I’m saying is that this is helping us. I think we’re in a way better place,” Mauricio continued. “We’ve been married for 27 years. We’ve never had so much going on in our lives. I think it’s become hard. Right? It’s become really hard.”

As the conversation continued, Kyle confessed that she never wanted to be a Housewife who just spent her days at home or shopping while Mauricio was off building an empire.

Mauricio acknowledged Kyle’s concerns and noted that he’d never want to see his wife be unfulfilled.

“You know, we’re both growing. We’re both changing. We’re about to be empty nesters. We’ve hit our 50s,” he pointed out.

Kyle interrupted, “But we’re not empty nesters yet. You keep saying that” with the RHOBH noting that she wants to focus on their problems “today” while Mauricio is all about looking towards the future.

“I sometimes just get frustrated that I don’t feel like I’m being heard,” she confessed to the cameras. “I’m not going to stay in a situation that I’m not happy in. Things I wouldn’t want my daughters to accept, I’m not going to accept myself.”

The scene ends with Mauricio and Kyle holding hands as The Agency founder points out that he and Kyle have throughout their marriage trouble they have never stopped loving each other.
