Alex Baskin reveals why Teddi was axed from RHOBH. Plus, Kelly Dodd weighs in and questions why she REALLY fired from RHOC.

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills executive producer Alex Baskin appeared on the November 10th episode of Teddi Mellencamp and Tamra Judge‘s Two T’s in a Pod podcast.

During the episode, Teddi asked Alex why she was fired from RHOBH following season ten.

“Why did I get fired?” Teddi asked the RHOBH EP. Her directness caught her co-host off guard as she interjected, “Oh Shit!”

According to Alex, the decision to fire Teddi was difficult to make but ultimately came down to the fact that RHOBH fans didn’t like her.

“Oh God. That’s tough. In yours, I think there was a strong audience reaction to you. So, I do think that was part of it. Not gonna deny that. And I also think that you were self-conscious,” he explained.

Tamra agreed with Alex’s comment that Teddi is “self-conscious,” noting, “She’s very in her head.”

Despite Teddi being fired from RHOBH, the EP claims that he and his team enjoyed what the All-In accountability coach brought to the show.

“The production always had your back. I was a big fan of yours because you would say things that other people were thinking and wouldn’t say,” he said. “I think it felt like then, on that show, you weren’t comfortable in your own skin. … I think that was the issue.”

Reality Blurb reported on Alex’s comments, which they shared on Instagram.

This is when Real Housewives of Orange County alum Kelly Dodd caught wind of the post and decided to interject her two cents on it all.

The RHOC alum commented that Teddi was fired because she’s boring. She then directly asked Alex Bakin why she was let go from RHOC and questioned if she was fired because her political beliefs didn’t align with his and Bravo’s viewpoints.

“This chick was boring; that’s why she got the bullet!! @thealexbaskin, why did I get fired? Is it because my political beliefs didn’t align with you and Bravo’s? Is that reality?” Kelly wrote alongside several sheep emojis.

Kelly joined RHOC during season 11 and starred in the franchise for five seasons before being fired alongside co-stars Braunwyn Windham-Burke and Elizabeth Lyn Vargas ahead of season 16.

The controversial OC Housewife admitted in 2021 that she was “blindsided” by her firing after receiving a call from producers as the news broke in the press.

“I said, ‘Well, why? Was it political?’ and he said, ‘No. Bravo wanted to take a different direction than you,'” she said on SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live in June 2021, per PEOPLE.

When asked if the decision to let her go could have been “personal” and whether or not she had “insult[ed] any executives,” Kelly admitted that she did.

“I did,” she said. “Listen, ultimately, I got fired because of myself. I’m the one who got myself fired. I was like Howard Stern with WNBC. I had the executives calling me, and Emily’s like, ‘Who are they?’ and I’m like, well, they know me! I know them! But I was causing them a lot of grief. I was causing them a lot of trouble.”

“And, you know, I’m sorry about that. I feel bad,” Kelly added.

As for Teddi, she joined the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in 2017 during season 8. She starred in the franchise for three seasons before being let go in 2020 ahead of season 11.

In October 2021, a month after confirming her exit from RHOBH, Teddi revealed why she believes she was fired.

“I think it’s because you didn’t see a lot of me other than in drama this year. If you only see me when I’m in an argument, it’s hard to see the whole picture. I wish we could have seen more of the fun stuff, but it’s a TV show,” Teddi revealed on Us Weekly‘s Getting Real with the Housewives podcast.

Almost a year later, in June 2022, Teddi shared another theory about her firing from RHOBH while appearing on Melissa Gorga‘s On Display podcast.

“I think my very first season, I started out — this is gonna sound, I’m just gonna be blunt with you, I’m gonna be completely honest — I didn’t have much money. I dressed differently. I did everything differently. I couldn’t get glammed, none of that stuff, because you know how much you get paid your first season as a Housewife,” the 42-year-old said at the time.

She also admitted to sending a nasty text to producers a week before being released from RHOBH.

“At the end of my season, I was mad. The quote I texted was: ‘I’ve trended on Twitter every single week from hate, and you aren’t giving me anything else but the negative. Please, I’m doing the work; I’m showing up. I need you to show my life in some other capacity. Ultimately, the goodbye happened two weeks later. I was completely surprised,” the mom of three shared.
