Summer House Martha’s Vineyard Trailer: Get the 411 on the Newest Show Joining Bravo’s Roster!

Bravo

Summer is about to be a whole lot more fun! On Thursday Bravo announced the newest show joining their roster – Summer House Martha’s Vineyard.

This Summer House spinoff show takes Bravo fans to another iconic Summer vacation destination. Summer House MV will follow 12 young black professionals as live their best summer lives on the picturesque island paradise off the coast of Massachusetts.

Martha’s Vineyard is known as “a favorite escape for the rich, famous and politically connected,” thanks to its “natural beauty with pristine beaches, romantic sailboats, colorful gingerbread cottages and cultural identity.”

However, there’s probably a lot about the history of Martha’s Vineyard that Bravo fans don’t know.

For over 100 years, Martha’s Vineyard has been a summer sanctuary for black vacationers. Martha’s Vineyard “was one of the first beach destinations where African Americans could vacation and purchase property,” PEOPLE reports.

“This is what the ancestors wanted,” one Summer House MV star says in the trailer while another star adds, “I want to dance, I want to twerk, I want to drop it like it’s hot, I want to twerk, I want to have a drink, order a shot — rinse repeat.”

Summer House MV stars Jasmine Ellis Cooper, Silas Cooper, Amir Lancaster, Jordan Emanuel, Preston Mitchum, Bria Fleming, Alex Tyree, Shanice Henderson, Jason Lyke, Summer Marie Thomas, Nicholas “Nick” Arrington, and Mariah Torres, who have all been friends for years.

Naturally their long history makes for quite a bit of drama. Expect a season full of hookups, laughs, and antics in between beach parties and fabulous dinners.

Looks good but Bravo brought all MTV personalities over to Bravo which is a stretch to get viewers to invest in a brand new show/concept. The Bravo audience watches shows of characters usually they have at a little history with. They should have included at least one or two popular previous Summer House characters or a HW character (or from any Bravo show) possibly into the mix, or to visit like they did at Winter House cross over. A show does better in the ratings when there is one or two personalities you have seen on Bravo before. I know they are trying to target a younger audience but the Southern Hospitality show imploded on the ratings on the best time slot on the Bravo schedule, Monday at 9 p.m., so again just by adding one or two Bravo personalities to a cast made up of all MTV people could have drawn more interest of viewers following some of their favorites over to a new show concept.
