The truth is finally coming out, and it’s not looking great for top L.A. lawyer and RHOBH husband Tom Girardi.
The now-disgraced lawyer went years with a pristine reputation which now raises many red flags as people are wondering how he got away with it for so long. In a new piece from the L.A. Times, sources are saying that complaints were ignored for years as members of the California bar association were dazzled by boozy lunches and lavish parties, which allowed them to turn a blind eye. Per the Times:
“Girardi had kept his law license pristine despite numerous complaints against him at the State Bar as well as more than 100 lawsuits against him and his firm, many of them alleging misappropriation of funds.”
“Girardi cultivated close relationships with bar employees by treating them to wine-soaked lunches at Morton’s, casino parties in Las Vegas, and private plane rides.”
The state bar admitted in a news release that came out last week “that an audit of the L.A. power broker’s disciplinary file “revealed mistakes made in some investigations over the many decades of Mr. Girardi’s career going back some 40 years and spanning the tenure of many Chief Trial Counsels.”
I know people are dazzled with fame and wealth, but I am truly shocked that such gross misconduct went on for years, with complaint after complaint coming in.
The articles continue to say that:
“The announcement was highly unusual for the State Bar, which rarely comments on its investigations, and a testament to how thoroughly the downfall of the wealthy and politically connected Girardi has shaken the legal community and the organization tasked with protecting the public from unscrupulous attorneys.”
The whole thing is alarming, and I hope Andy is correct when he promised viewers that Erika wouldn’t be holding back on the situation.
