Erika Jayne was more honest and open in the season 11 premiere episode of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills than she’s been in the last 5 seasons of the show.
During the season 11 premiere of RHOBH, Erika admitted that she “dreaded waking up” while in quarantine with her now-estranged husband, Tom Girardi.
At the time of filming, Erika and Tom were still married, but the episode foreshadowed their eventual split.
Erika’s startling admission came during a girl’s night at Dorit Kemsley’s house. While sitting in Dorit’s backyard, Lisa Rinna asked all the ladies to reveal their “best moment” and “hardest moment” during COVID.
Most of the ladies admitted that they were “thankful” to have the time at home with their families; however, Erika felt much different.
“[My time in quarantine] was very dark,” Erika said. “Like all of us, I’m busy all the time. And when I came home from [doing Chicago in] New York, it was really silent.”
“Who am I if I’m not working?” she asked. “Every day, I woke up, and I dreaded waking up. So I called a psychiatrist, and I went on [the anti-depressant] Lexapro. And it was the greatest thing.”
Later in her confessional interview, Erika added, “I did not want to have to see a psychiatrist — I felt that it was a sign of defeat.”
She then told her friends and co-stars, “My problems are still there, but my attitude about them is different.”
Erika didn’t go into detail about her “problems.” Still, one can only assume her marriage was one of them as we’ve previously reported Erika filed for divorce from Tom only a few weeks into filming season 11 of RHOBH.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo.
