There are going to be some major changes when it comes to the cast of The Real Housewives of New York next season. After the departure of Carole Radziwill from the RHONY, there is an open spot. Plus, there is still a lot of back and forth, about whether OG Bethenny Frankel will return. Apparently Bravo is “testing” a potential new cast member for the show, and that someone is Barbara Kavovit. She runs a business that markets tools to women, called DIYva. Plus, she has a friendship with Luann de Lesseps. Barbara has been filming with the ladies and seems to have the personality of a ‘Real Housewife.’ In fact, Barbara once took the network to court for airing a conversation that was recorded!
According to Page Six, sources have said, “Kavovit is filming with the rest of the cast as a tryout to become a full-time co-star as opposed to a so-called friend of the Housewives, or part-time cast member.” Furthermore; back in May of 2017, Barbara tried to get an injunction against the network after they aired a conversation she thought was private. The incident took place at an event in 2016 with then-cast member Carole Radziwill. Carole’s microphone picked up the conversation and it was aired. When Barbara found out that Bravo was going to air it, she filed an emergency suit with Manhattan Supreme Court. Apparently the conversation was about friend, and cast member, Luann de Lesseps. A judge tossed the case on the grounds of the First Amendment. It’s been reported that Barbara and Luann are on good terms again and are back to being friends.
It looks like we definitely will be seeing some Barbara next season on the show! It seems like she would be a good fit. Only time will tell if she will be a full-time Real Housewife or a friend of the Real Housewives. Stay tuned, loves!
