Kim Richards has endured one heck a year that includes two arrests, multiple trips to rehab, and losing her ex-husband and best friend Monty Brinson. Through it all the former Real Housewife has continued to fight for her sobriety and take life one day at a time. Kim recently opened up about losing Monty and what her emotional last words to him were.
Kim, who referred to Monty as “the best friend I’ve ever had in my life,” got emotional as she discussed his recent death with Entertainment Tonight.
“He was glad that he was going first cause he didn’t think he could bear it if it were me and then he had to be left here,” Kim reveals.
Kim and Monty were married from 1985 to 1988 and had a daughter named Brooke together remained friends long after their divorce even living together the last few years as Monty battled cancer.
While recalling her last moments with Monty Kim became even more emotional. “I said, ‘I love you,’ and then I felt him just kind of leave, and it was shocking. I just didn’t expect it.”
As for her sobriety following Monty’s death, Kim positively said: “I’ll just say my recovery is going amazing.”
Kim also opened up about her new reality show on Lifetime where she attempts to mend her troubled relationship with her youngest daughter Kimberly. It turns out that Kim’s biggest nemesis on the show is Heidi Montag former star of The Hills who Kim says ” likes to stir the [pot].”
