Why You Won’t Ever See A Real Housewife On Dancing With The Stars!
Many of the housewives have been dying to be on the hit show ‘Dancing With The Stars.’ Some are even desperate enough to have their fans tweet Dancing with the Stars and beg them to bring that specific housewife onto the show. But have you noticed that their still hasn’t been one Real Housewife on it? Well that’s because the show doesn’t think the ladies are big enough stars! Ooooohh snap! A source tells RadarOnline, “There have been former and current Housewives that have reached out to producers to appear on Dancing With the Stars but the ladies have all been shot down. Taylor Armstrong expressed an interest in appearing and she was rejected. Producers of Dancing With The Stars just don’t think the ladies are big enough stars to appear on the show. Of course there is also rivalry issues at play because Bravo is owned by NBC Universal and Dancing is an ABC show, so you have massive egos involved which will likely prevent any of the Housewives from ever being offered a spot.”
The source adds, “Dancing With The Stars is a family friendly show and a lot of the cast members from the Housewives have all sorts of unsavory issues in their background and sadly, the women tend to get more negative press than positive, and ABC would never want to go down that road. ABC doesn’t shy away from casting controversial stars, from Bristol Palin to Kate Gosselin, but both of those ladies have a hard core fan base.”
Here’s where Dancing With The Stars is wrong. These housewives do have a HUGE fan base. Bigger than some of the stars they’ve had on the show. Then again, they are just “housewives” so I also get it. And if they were to chose someone to be on the show, I highly doubt they’d pick Taylor Armstrong! Better luck next time, Taylor! Who would you want to see on Dancing With The Stars?

I think it has more to do with the ABC/NBC thing–that’s why you get to see RH on Celebrity Apprentice no problem.
Sidenote: I think Ramona should be the next RH on Celebrity Apprentice. Or Vicki.

Ive always said Ramona on CA would be FUN. She would bring the CRAZY. Hope they ask her next season.
They’re using the “fan-base” excuse instead of just saying that Bravo is owned by NBC and there is a rivalry between those two networks. I mean the majority of the stars that are on Dancing with the Stars I don’t even recognize or know LOL. So what is that saying about the whole fan base thing? Its the rivalry.
ABC is Disney & doubt if any of the Housewives will be allowed on the show, fan base or not……
I can think of current stars on other networks that they cast: Disney (Kyle, Roshon), E! (Kendra, Holly, Kim and Rob Kardashian) and MTV (the Situation). So they do go to other networks not owned by NBC. Disney stars aren’t controversial but E! stars are (former playmates, sex-tape Kardashian). The fan bases for the individual HWs aren’t huge like other reality stars that DWTS has cast because the HWs are an ensemble cast. The Kardashians are an ensemble cast too, but each of them has a big fan base. Kendra and Holly have/had their own shows on E! so I guess that’s why they were cast. Teresa’s fan base is probably about the same size as Bethenny’s (1.2 million viewership last week), so I would think only those two would be considered as HWs with big enough fan bases to cast.
Are you kidding me? Half of their “stars”, each season, need to be Googled to find out who they are. The housewives are on tv and in magazines year round.
True. I only watch while someone i like is on the show. The only season ive ever finished was the one with Erin Andrews on it. They will change their minds about Housewives when the ratings dip low enough. Does anyone even bother watching anymore?

Real Housewives of New Jersey – Obviously Teresa ……..or if we don’t have to choose a wife, I think Chris Manzo would be HILARIOUS
Real Housewives of New York – Kelly Bensimone (or however you spell it) (I’m gonna miss her this season)
Real Housewives of Miami – Marysol’s mom – but that is unlikely
Real Housewives of Orange County – HANDS DOWN VICKI!!!!!!!!!!
and I know this would never happen, but if they did the Real Housewives of Vancouver – I would love to see Jodi!!!
I’m glad none of the housewives are on the show because I don’t see then with STAR QUALITY except for Teresa Giudice, Kim Zolciak, Nene, Ramona Singer, and Lisa Vanderpump because the housewives are always talking about them. After all, they are the most talked about, and the show would be DEAD BORING without them.
If Teresa joined, I would enjoy watching her. Even watching Alexis Bellino wouldn’t be so bad, and that’s because she’s not bright at all. I would want to see how dumb she acts when she’s around her dance partner. Lol.

This is the best they could do? This from the show that had both Lil’ Kim and Kim Kardashian on it. Have a seat ABC you just don’t want to aid NBC in promoting their shows, that’s all it is.
I would love to see Teresa Guidice but of course I am a big fan of hers. Her name is pretty huge though after being on CA and working with Nephcure.
I don’t think taylor is emotionally strong enough to handle the stress of DWTS.
I would love to see Teresa Guidice, NeNe and all of the ladies in Bevery Hills except for Taylor on Dancing with The Stars.
If he playboy playmates can be on the show, why can’t the Housewives be on it.
Celebgather just ran a story saying Teresa is (paraphrasing) dying to get on DWTS and has already picked Dymitri as her partner.
And you forgot to mention Tom DeLay (now in prison), that fomer IL governor (now in prison) and Warren Sapp (arrested on domestic violence charges)… yep… stand up peeps competing on that show!!
PS… Gretchen would make a good contestant with Derek Hough perhaps.
Oh please who are they fooling w the ‘family show’ BS. Didn’t they have someone from the jersey shore on DWTS?! That show is by far more disgusting and shameful than any RHW show, actually any show on TV that is! I’m in the demographic for the jersey shore and I have only watched about 2 minutes total of that BS. It could be network rivalry but isn’t E! owned by NBC, who also owns Bravo? And we all know plenty of E! Network stars have been on DWTS. Gotta be more reason to it.
The RHONJ knock Kate Gosselin out of the ballpark with Twitter followers. Most of the blogs, Twitter, and comment chatter about Kate is their disgust of her. Kate may draw more attention but it definitely isn’t from fans. I recently saw an article about her on Yahoo that had over 13,000 comments which were 99.9% negative. The only thing that woman has going for her is controversary and hatred.
It is great that Kyle can do the splits. But whenever I see her doing them, it screams ‘desperation’. I really do feel sorry for her, she is a beautiful woman, she doesn’t need to do this for the attention.
I agree with Dancing! Noone from Jersey Shore has been on either.
The Situation has been on dancing with the stars.
Lets not forget that Bethenny was on Skating with the Stars so I doubt it has anything to do with the network. I’m sure that a Housewife will be on Dancing with the Stars in the future, it just looks so tacky when they try to petition it.
Teresa or Nene would make for fun viewing. Ramona would be a hoot.
