Over the weekend, Monica Garcia revealed on Instagram that doctors could not find a heartbeat for her baby during a recent sonogram appointment.
The former RHOSLC star shared the devasting news on social media.
She wrote:
“One thing I promised myself when opening my life up to all of you was that I was going to do it completely unapologetically and authentically raw as possible. I would show you my life in all aspects because that is what I agreed to do.
Unfortunately, today I need to share a very heartbreaking aspect. “There is no heartbeat” I don’t have many words and I’m still processing all of this myself. As quickly as this happened, that’s how quickly things have changed. I am sending so much love to everyone dealing with miscarriages, fertility issues, pregnancy problems, if you have an angel baby, and everything in-between.
I am so grateful for my incredible doctors and amazing support system. I am so blessed to have all of you in my corner and I appreciate how beautiful you all have been to me about this baby. I love you and I’m so thankful for you.”
This baby would have been Monica Garcia’s fifth child. She is already mom to Bri, 18, Jaidyn, 13, West, 7, and Kendall, 6, with her ex-husband Mike Fowler.
Earlier this month, the 40-year-old announced her pregnancy on The Viall Files podcast. Initially she seemed hesitant to speak on it before revealing that she is seven weeks pregnant.
Monica Garcia stated that she hadn’t even told anyone about her pregnancy prior to coming on the podcast, “I literally just found out. I have not told one f**king person except for my best friend.”
“I literally went into urgent care for something totally unrelated that I thought was wrong, and the doctor came in and was like, ‘You’re pregnant. I’m like, ‘I’m 39! Like, there’s no way. I’m on birth control.’ By all means, I should not be pregnant.”
“I thought I was done. I think being so much older and having a baby is, like, really freaking me out. Also my youngest is 6. I thought I was done. It’s like, it’s so much.”
Initially the name and details of Monica’s baby daddy is remained a mystery, but he has since been identified as Braxton Knight, 29.
The 29-year-old is an outdoor enthusiast. He currently works as the general manager of Wasatch Excursions in Utah.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City will return for season 5 in late 2024.
