Melissa Gorga Agrees Filming RHONJ Separately From Teresa Giudice ‘Isn’t Sustainable’

Melissa Gorga admits that filming RHONJ separately from enemy Teresa Giudice “isn’t sustainable” for future seasons of the franchise.

Andy Cohen recently made it known that the current state of the Real Housewives of New Jersey franchise “isn’t sustainable” with the series having “two camps” aka “Team Teresa” and “Team Melissa.”

On Sirius XM’s Andy Cohen Live, Andy Cohen doubled down on his statement that RHONJ isn’t sustainable with Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga not on speaking terms.

“Want to clear something up or want to add to a comment that I made that has made some news this week and I don’t know when I said it, but apparently, I said it to Brice from Entertainment Tonight, and I don’t know when. I haven’t seen him since BravoCon, I don’t think. Apparently, I told him and it got picked up all over the place that Jersey, the idea of having both Melissa and Teresa on the show, that it’s not sustainable because they’re not speaking and there are kind of two camps on the show. What I want to clarify is that I maintain that statement.”

“It isn’t a sustainable universe to have kind of two camps on the show and I think you see that with Potomac this season and why a lot of viewers, including me, were frustrated with it, but I will say this. It somehow worked this season. We got through the season and it worked and it’s interesting and as I think you see from the trailer, the season is not about Melissa versus Teresa and I think that’s great, yet they’re both still on the show and we want to see them on the show.”

Andy concluded by saying that while Teresa and Melissa’s lack of communication worked this season – it won’t work in the future: 

“They’re both, you know, they’re both stars and they’ve been on the show, you know, forever, so it worked this season, but I stand by what I’m saying that for the future, it’s not sustainable. I don’t want you to think that what I said was a condemnation on this season.”

As RHONJ fans know, the series is currently split into two camps. One camp consists of Teresa, Jennifer Aydin, and Jackie Goldschneider.

The other team is made up of Melissa, Rachel Fuda, Danielle Cabral, and Margaret Josephs.

Dolores Catania and Jennifer Fessler have remained neutral amid the divide in the cast.

After Andy’s comments made waves in the Bravoverse, Melissa Gorga chatted with The U.S. Sun about his declaration and it turns out the longtime RHONJ star couldn’t help but agree.

“I one thousand percent agree with him on that,” she revealed.

While she couldn’t go into detail, Melissa teased that a “huge twist” comes out during season 14.

“I’m excited. I think it’s a good refreshing season,” she shared. “I know everybody’s seeing the change in dynamics and friendships, and it’s actually going to be quite shocking.”

“I think people are so used to Jersey being about family,” the 45-year-old continued. “It’s a huge twist this year – plot twist!”

Melissa went on to name the RHONJ co-stars she trusts the most and who had her back while filming season 14.

“I have my girls on the show that I trust and I love. Love Dolores. I love Margaret and I love Rachel. I mean, I am getting to know Danielle a lot better this year,” Melissa remarked.

“She seems like a really down to earth, awesome person. So I am also forming new friendships, which I’m happy about.”

When I started watching only 3 RH shows after they'd been on for years, I thought NJ was the trashiest and therefore worst. I figured out much later, it was mostly because of Teresa. I think it could go away permanently and Bravo could focus on the other ones or pick a new state or city or just dump it. However I would like to see just one season without Teresa, Luis, Gia and hopefully Aydin. Danielle can easily take Teresa's place as the "villain", IMO.

15 yrs. is a phenomenal run for any TV show, and as the decreasing ratings indicate, we've pretty much lost interest. I find it interesting that what used to make NJ good was the authenticity and realness of the famblies, but now it all feels so canned and scripted. I used to like Margaret, because she seemed authentic, but now I feel like she's just reading lines that the producers feed her. Also, I'm not buying any of their friendships, and that's always a deal breaker for me, and that's the number one thing that's ruining the entire series for me. Even common work associates eventually become friendlier than these women ever have ... at least that's my impression.

If there are, it's sure not resonating on television. I used to think Kyle and Dorit were genuinely tight, but we found out that isn't the case.

Episodes from 2012 are on bravo this morning where Jacqueline is trying to make up and be Teresa's friend but Teresa will not admit doing anything wrong. Like Caroline said, "Jacqueline is devastated about the friendship breaking up and Teresa could care less". Then Teresa says in a confessional, "I should have punched her in the nose (Jacqueline). She deserved it but I don't do that kind of stuff". Joe is trying to mend his relationship with the witch by going to therapy. She says she'll go so maybe he can be fixed. She can't go more than 5 minutes without sounding stupid. It is so clear every relationship except with the husband is about her using others. If they don't obey she dumps them.

I also just want to point out that when AnnaMarie joined the cast of RHOBH, the negative information reported about her husband’s past was media reporting again on the newest Housewife and husband, by the tabloid, the US Sun. That is what tabloid media do, investigative leads. No one from RHOBH contacted them, or had a private investigator feed that story to the US Sun. Same thing with Rachel and John Fuda, joining a reality show knowing they have something in their past. The US Sun said they investigated HW Rachael and John Fuda as the newest HW at the time, and it lead to his ex wife. Not rocket science. The US Sun is now already investigating and reporting into the background of new RHONY HW Rebecca Minkoff and her family ties to Scientology, etc. what Senior Levels of Leadership they are at…I pointed these examples out Again to show how New Bravo HW/HW Husbands are investigated and reported by the tabloid media (US.Sun., Daily Mail) if there’s a story or lead in a Housewife or husband’s past.

Honestly, no I just saw the reporting about the new NY housewife, Scientology background stuff, and another story about Annamarie’s husband brought up again with her dispute with Crystal and all the reports still about divisions between this cast and that still was a sore spot unresolved they just won’t get past. Plus my job was PR for years, so I am familiar with how media works. I don’t really follow the HW Twitter/ influencers stuff or individual HW bloggers at all and I don’t do Instagram at all posting or Reddit. I just view the few blogs RB, RT , been watching the shows since day one and maybe catch a Podcast once in a while. I don’t even know these influencers handle, just know this site has been here 12 years and posters come and go, same as the other sites too. Have a good day!

The issues with NJ in recent years is the storylines/ editing just has got so off track for both “camps/sides” and what makes NJ great, the family relationships and friendships that go back 10-20 years were not taken advantage of. Everything was so negative, gotcha the cast nearly tanked their own series. When both Melissa and Teresa’s 2-3 minute clips from their own vacations or cooking show clips w/daughters posted were more funny and entertaining than anything featured on NJ all season, that is a problem! The focus also has been way too much away from the HW, to the husbands which has not helped them heal! Many Husbands on NJ want the spotlight way too much and are happy to destroy relationships and throw a bomb if it gets them screen time and lots of press. This only happens in NJ. Also, new Housewives out of the gate are frowned upon putting themselves in the middle of all the HW conflict, So why is ok for New HW Husbands on NJ to do it? While they add some comic relief, the focus and screen time on the men have actually greatly added to the division on this cast and inability to forgive and heal.

It could have been. Plus I think they realize that Teresa's days are numbered. Or that the whole show is going to be canned. Maybe they are PO'd at Luis, too.

Why isn't it sustainable? There are alliances and typically two camps on each franchise. Sounds okay to me.

Melissa makes friends with almost anyone that comes on the show. TreApe on the other hand has few friends and then burns those up also.
