Real Housewives of New Jersey star Melissa Gorga believed Friday’s earthquake in New Jersey “was a ghost.” She admits to “screaming” and calling 911.

Initially, Melissa Gorga thought the 4.8-magnitude earthquake that hit New Jersey and the tri-state area on Friday was a ghost.

“I was freaking out a little bit … I’m like, ‘Wow! Like, I’ve never experienced a ghost before, like, maybe that was a ghost,’” the Real Housewives of New Jersey star told Entertainment Tonight shortly after the quake shook her home on Friday.

According to Melissa Gorga, she was working out in her Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, home when she felt the ground begin to shake underneath her.

“I have weights in my hands, and I was like, ‘What is happening?’ It sounded like my roof was shaking, the floor was shaking, and it really did sound like a stampede, like people were running, running, running. And I just froze ’cause I get nervous,” she explained.

The Bravoleb was home alone and thought her home may have been invaded because she received a notification that the front door was open.

“I am screaming. I’m running up the stairs,” she said. “I have 911 ready to push, so I dialed it on my phone.”

After learning that NJ and the surrounding states experienced an earthquake, Melissa Gorga took to Instagram to poke fun at the situation.

“EARTHQUAKE in NJ! Omg!!” she captioned the post.

“I just went running up my stairs from the basement/working out while calling 911 because it sounded like a stampede was going on upstairs, and then I got a notification on my phone that my front door was open!” she added. “I was freaking out! That was a first!”

Hey now, EQ's are freaking scary. I remember laying on our driveway working on my first car when the ground shook so bad it bounced us up an down. I distinctly recall the feeling that the ground was going to open up and swallow us. Melissa is kind of dingy and ditzy! At least it is humorous and not like Teresa's latest irresponsible behavior noticed by someone who recognized her at an airport being beyond rude (no surprise). Here is an excerpt: "Teresa disregarded the priority boarding announcement for people with special needs and service members. The onlooker continues, “She rushed to the gate, pushing past those in wheelchairs and others needing extra assistance. No one confronted her for fear of her reaction.”

She is ditzy sometimes , thars when I get a kick out of her.?.. Seriously I don’t believe that “ story “ going around. No video, no pictures?! In this day and age when everyone is basically pulling out their phones when they see stuff.. I call bullshit . Unless there’s proof to this story.

I think that is part of the reason they've kept her this long. She's the fun girl! I also think they've kept her this long to keep Joe. Time will tell. Was she on her way back from or to filming House of Traitors or something like that in the past week? There isn't any reason to not believe it unless Teresa says she wasn't flying during that time, IMO. It isn't like she wouldn't do something like that.

I think she is funny sometimes, like when she’s drunk or just says and dies off the wall stuff. And she has had some good one liners and comebacks . See I disagree, it’s just a “story “, zero proof. Like I said no pictures no videos.. ya know? Anyway until there’s proof, I call bullshit .

I noticed how dingy she was when they were on a trip and thought Tennessee was "out west". Well, I guess it was for her. There was something else she was clueless on and I thought she must have lived a sheltered life or just not all that informed! She is like her mother with the kind of "happy go lucky" air about her for the most part. By the way, Teresa was in CA filming House of Villains as of around 10 days ago reportedly. Maybe she was going home in a bad mood! Ha.

Hum. I haven't noticed that. She's been around so long it is easy to read her face. She hasn't seemed to be having any fun the last two seasons and in fact seems irritated about and bored with her job . The only time she perked up at bravocon (via what was available to watch) was when Jennifer was yelling at the woman who made the rude remark. IMO. based on what I've seen. I don't do Instagram, etc.

I pretty much slept through the only earthquake I ever experienced. All I remember of it was assuming I was dreaming because my bed was shaking up and down Exorcist style. When I woke up in the morning I had totally forgotten about the ‘dream’ and assumed my cat must have knocked over some items on my dresser and nightstand. It wasn’t until I got to work when the office was all abuzz about the earthquake that I put 2 and 2 together cuz I ain’t that bright ?. Seriously though, I also slept through a tornado once as well cuz I’m one of those DEEP sleepers so that my sleep is more akin to a coma than sleep. Lol. Anyway, I feel Melissa’s pain. Had I not been in a sleep coma I would have freaked the ever lovin’ eff out cuz we don’t get earthquakes in these parts. Glad I slept through it.

I totally get her not being familiar although during my first tremors in a non-earthquake prone area, I certainly didn't think it was a ghost! (One time I assumed it was a jet taking off shaking the building but there was no noise. Another time I assumed it was the wind moving my blinds but the window was closed.) Yes, why is the ditzy one posting it unless to just be her silly self not to mention get some attention for the season that will start within a month.
