Andy Cohen Apologizes After Brandi Glanville Accuses Him of Sexual Harassment

Bravo’s Andy Cohen has issued an apology after RHOBH alum Brandi Glanville publicly accused him of sexual harassment.

On Thursday, Brandi Glanville‘s attorneys Bryan J. Freedman and Mark Geragos sent a legal letter to  NBCUniversal (Bravo’s parent company), Warner Bros, and Shed Media in which the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum accused Andy Cohen of sending her an inappropriate video in 2022.

“Ms. Glanville herself has been a victim of sexual harassment at Bravo by none other than Andy Cohen,” the letter read. The letter was filed in Los Angeles and was obtained by numerous media outlets including PEOPLE.

“In a video sent by Mr. Cohen to Ms. Glanville in 2022, Mr. Cohen — appearing obviously inebriated — boasted of his intention to sleep with another Bravo star that night while thinking of her and invited her to watch via Facetime,” the letter continued.

“Mr. Cohen was Ms. Glanville’s boss at the time and exercised complete and total control over her career,” the letter further states.

“This was an extraordinary abuse of power that left Ms. Glanville feeling trapped and disgusted. It is inconceivable that Mr. Cohen remains in his post in spite of this behavior and harkens back to the bad old days of Matt Lauer and NBC News when profits were prioritized over people.”

After Brandi Glanville’s letter hit the media and began making its way around social media, Andy Cohen issued an apology on Twitter aka X.

The Watch Watch What Happens Live host insisted that the video was sent in “jest.”

“The video shows Kate Chastain and I very clearly joking to Brandi. It was absolutely meant in jest, and Brandi’s response clearly communicated she was in on the joke. That said, it was totally inappropriate and I apologize,” Andy Cohen wrote.

A rep for Bravo refused to comment on the video.

However, a source tells PEOPLE:

“No one in their right mind would think that anything Andy was saying in that video was meant to be taken seriously. It was very clear that everyone was in on the joke.”

Oddly enough Brandi’s allegation against Andy come just months after she sang his praises while chatting with Page Six about her ongoing Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip drama with Caroline Manzo.

“Andy and I have had a ton of conversations because this is the first time I’ve ever dealt with anything like this,” she recalled. “This is new for me and this is scary for me. He’s been very helpful, honestly.”

“He’s like, ‘It’s going to be what it’s going to be. Some people are going to probably see it and just say, ‘That’s Brandi being Brandi,’” she claimed of Andy. “‘Don’t be too hard on yourself.’”

Part one of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 13 reunion airs Feb. 28. at 8 p.m. on Bravo.
