RHONJ’s Melissa Gorga dishes on ‘unfortunate’ estrangement with co-star and sister-in-law Teresa Giudice; says their relationship ‘It is what it is.’

Melissa Gorga says she’s accepted her “unfortunate” relationship with her sister-in-law and RHONJ co-star Teresa Giudice.

“It is the new normal. I think it just is what it is. I always say it’s unfortunate. I’ll never be, like, happy about that,” the 44-year-old RHONJ star told Entertainment Tonight on Monday, January 8.

 The mom of three added, “But we’re all living, and we’re happy, and sometimes things just need to take its course. Right now, that’s definitely how it is.”

The longtime Bravoleb also teased that, unlike past seasons, season 14 of RHONJ won’t primarily focus on the rocky relationship between Melissa and her husband, Joe Gorga, and his sister, Teresa.

“The biggest misconception is that it’s gonna be more drama between me and my sister-in-law,” Melissa said. “We don’t even, like, look at each other.”

As for when season 14 of RHONJ will air, Melissa didn’t reveal that exact date but teased that she heard it will premiere in “early spring.”

Back in November at BravoCon, Melissa Gorga opened up the upcoming fourteenth season of RHONJ and had quite a bit to say about what fans can expect, especially when it comes to her rollercoaster relationship with estranged sister-in-law Teresa Giudice.

“You know what? It’s hard,” she said of cutting Teresa and her husband, Luis “Louie” Ruelas, out of their lives, per PEOPLE. “But I’ve come to a point in my life where, you know, you can try, you can try, you can try, but at some point, you need to protect your peace, and you need to create a boundary, and I think that’s what I did and that’s what we’re doing.”

“I think, you know, when something is really toxic, and it doesn’t work for you, and it makes you uncomfortable, you don’t need to force yourself to be around it,” Melissa continued. “It’s okay to let something go. I am protecting my peace. We should all protect our peace. I think that’s a wonderful thing, and everyone should do that.”

When asked how their lack of communication changed things for season 14 of RHONJ, Melissa said:

“It’s very different from last season… because there’s not a lot of communication, so I think it’s different and better.”

“I think the fans will feel refreshed as well. I mean, weren’t you sick of it?” the 44-year-old asked the crowd. “It’s so much to describe right now, but I think everyone knows where we’re at. Everyone’s reading it. I think it’s, like I said, we’re at a place of peace. I think everyone needs a minute. Everyone needs a break, and there’s just a period on it right now.”

As for Teresa, she told E! News in November that her relationship with Melissa was over for good.

“That chapter’s closed,” the RHONJ OG declared.

No, not until she is hard up and needs him. Joe alluded to that at the end of the reunion. When she needs him in a bad way, he'll be there. (For example, when Luis dumps her.) Period. Based on what I've seen, she resented her little brother, was jealous of him, and always in competition. As long as he was single, he did whatever she wanted so they were close because he was her soldier. Getting on "her show" with the wife she would hate no matter who she was was too much for her. The vendetta wasn't just against Melissa! It was against Joe. She even made a comment in tears that explained that he was supposed to be totally loyal to her no matter what. Sounded like the old school organized crime mentality to me.

The vendetta ("a prolonged bitter quarrel with or campaign against someone") is what the tabloids called a "feud" that amped up 14 years ago. Even the fanatics would likely agree the "feud" would have ended as soon as Joe/Melissa quit the show or got fired. A vendetta is closer to someone who goes to a lot of trouble, including trying to destroy her brother's marriage, to get her way and control someone else. Can't help but compare the fact she expects loyalty while giving none and the Italian this and that all these years. Got tired of hearing "old school" regarding those of Italian descent in NJ! Their father had a feud with his brother-in-law over money and wouldn't speak to his own sister because of it. However, daughter went beyond when she tried to destroy the marriage of her brother by lying more than once on national TV. Then again, she went to prison for lying and stealing so can't expect trash like that to have integrity.

When Joe and Melissa get fired from bravo, they'll be better off, IMO, because they have each other and they also have more than enough going to take care of themselves comfortably. When Teresa is fired, Luis will drag her through a nasty divorce and she'll be even more in debt. She'll have no place to live since she won't get anything from that house. He made sure of that. They had only been dating about 6 months when he bought it via an LLC.

Just because you have a new home, a shore house and a 20 year marriage (as another commenter pointed out) doesn't mean you're truly happy. It may not be. It is all hanging on whether or not bravo renews her. If she loses the job, Luis is gone. Joe let it be known at the very end of the reunion that when Teresa's bubble pops, he'll be there and Melissa said she'd go "with whatever the family decides".

It might be because she got questions. It might be because it bothers her husband. Yes, Melissa is vain, annoying and kind of ditzy but she and Joe love each other and she was also fun and positive on the show. Yes, she was petty toward Teresa in her confessionals in the beginning but it changed. (They all do that though.) Teresa was probably hired to be the village idiot and people that knew her laughed at her or eye rolled when she was showing how ignorant she was (is). Yeah, I blame Melissa for those things. All in all though, she isn't nearly as bad and had to put up with way too much. Teresa had no respect for her brother and he is the one she's always had the extreme sibling rivalry problem with. Who knows why the parents didn't like her but not like I'd trust their judgment.

Not unlike every race, there might be small or large percentages of other race DNA in people across the world. According to what I've read, the Black DNA (I forgot what they call it but something to do with Africa) in average modern day Italians might be 1-3%. So what? Yet Teresa probably doesn't have any known relatives of African descent, does she? Or so what if she does? You just have a problem with Caucasian Italians being considered black by a few in a small part of the US many years ago. I remember it being close to $1,100,000 in April. Apparently the publicity (notoriety) was incentive to pay it down to close to $700,000 in October. How pathetic of people who constantly post photos of themselves on extravagant, very expensive vacations! She owed every year for 8 years as of earlier this year. Hope it keeps getting posted by the county regarding the liens! Unlike Ross, I pay my share of federal income tax and regard people who don't even though they obviously can, total scum.

Teresa still owes close to $700,000 dating back to 2014 and ending in 2021. We don't know yet how much she and Luis didn't pay for 2022. Where are the articles with the judgements against Joe or Melissa for anything. All I've seen are tabloid articles with someone claiming so it doesn't exist if there are no judgments. Not to mention Teresa has a past history of lying, cheating and stealing and being convicted for all of it since she made the choice.
