RHOP: Gizelle Bryant Says She Can Never Be Friends With Candiace Dillard After Colorism Accusations

RHOP OG Gizelle Bryant says she's done with Candiace Dillard after colorism accusations.

RHOP OG Gizelle Bryant reveals that she will NEVER be friends with Candiace Dillard ever again after colorism accusations led to death threats.

On Sunday’s episode of RHOP, Gizelle Bryant explained to co-star Karen Huger why she has zero interest in mending fences with Candiace Dillard following their feud during season 7 of the show.

Gizelle explains that she just can’t move forward with Candiace after she accused her of colorism at the RHOP season 7 reunion.

“There’s no moving forward with her for me. Okay. Because last year, the narrative [that I] treat people differently based off the color of their skin, which is completely horrible and disgusting,” Gizelle told Karen.

If you recall, at the RHOP season 7 reunion, an emotional Candiace told Gizelle:

“You sit up here with your privileged white-looking ass, and you think you can say whatever you wanna say.”

According to Gizelle, Candiace’s accusation of colorism led to her receiving “hundreds” of death threats on social media, which the RHOP OG says she will NOT stand for as it creates a “safety” concern for her and her three daughters.

“It’s caused hundreds of death threats. And her position is always, ‘oh, I get death threats too,'” she revealed to a shocked Karen.

Gizelle elaborated more in her confessional interview: “Candace has created so rhetoric and nonsense, I have to be concerned about my safety. My kids need to be safe, and I’m happy that I’m able to explain this to Karen because I really don’t think she understood. Candace crossed the line with me that that we we won’t we will never get back. ”

Some of Candiace’s “rhetoric” included tweets like: “Ask yourself why you’re more offended when a dark-skinned woman reads you versus when a white adjacent woman reads you. Those are YOUR problems #RHOP.”

As for Karen, she said that she now understands how serious things got between the two feuding co-stars.

“You know, what I find interesting is that you and I both have beautiful brown-skinned baby girls. I got the same push back too. But you guys went back and forth, and I now understand the importance of the cease of the banter between the two of you. And I did not know it got that serious. I’m so sorry.”

Candiace shared her thoughts on Gizelle’s comments from Sunday’s episode of RHOP on Twitter by retweeting a fan’s take on it all.

The tweet Candiace shared read:

“Nobody should receive death threats. Gizelle, for all of her vileness last season and into this season, didn’t deserve that. HOWEVER, Gizelle has an issue with taking accountability for the things that she causes. She threw rocks and hid her hands yet again. You can’t be mad at Candiace [for] being upset about this.”

The Real Housewives of Potomac airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.

Wait, I thought "colorism" was Wendy's shtick ... now Candace?

"colorism" is every black person's schtick. Black people love calling each other ni88ers enough to devote an entire musical genre to it, and judge each other based on the color of their skin (as opposed to the content of their character), but black people CAN'T be racist, dontchyaknow.

One of my guilty pleasures (other than the HW's) is watching Code Blue arrest videos on YouTube and you ain't kidding ... they use that word incessantly (and not always as a term of endearment).

Ha! We all need our escapes, other than HW of course. Mine is looking at rich people's homes that they're buying and selling. The word has absolutely no effect on me one way or another. If other people choose to use it, I'm not gonna get my titties in a sweat. To each their own.

Words are just words, and I've just never been especially bothered by them. There are huge cultural differences that I will usually see the humor in, and I see nothing wrong with poking fun at them (including my own). BTW, I work in R/E, as an agent and a builder. I never tire of touring the most incredible homes. Are you tired of gray color schemes and white marble yet?

Oh my god, I just sold my home. My home was done entirely in midcentury. TRUE midcentury, not this cardboard minimalist Amazon lightning deal bullshit. Buyers hated it. I was selling in a snowbird destination, and guess what they wanted? Gray barnwood and white cupboards. There's no accounting for taste. And yeah, I'm wired to find humor in culture and personalities, and that always includes my own. That makes me racist/ageist/homophobic despite the fact that I'm from the inner city, middle aged, and bisexual lol.

I love mid century ... stream lined, in ochres, siennas, teals, olives ... Crate & Barrel, Potter Barn, Williams Sonoma ... I'm in:-)
