Bravo better buckle up for war as Bethenny Frankel’s battle against the network is heating up!
Bethenny Frankel’s lawyers have sent another letter to NBC Universal and Bravo. This time, the lawyers are demanding that Bravo/NBC Universal release reality TV stars from their nondisclosure agreements to discuss the alleged mistreatment they faced while working for the network.
In the letter, attorney Bryan Freedman states that NDAs violate California law, per TMZ. Apparently, California law “prohibits companies from forcing employees to sign NDAs prohibiting them from disclosing unlawful conduct.”
Freedman is demanding that Bravo/NBC Universal “fully release their reality stars from their NDAs, but at a minimum acknowledge that they can discuss alleged illegal conduct during production.”
This latest letter comes just weeks after Freedman and his co-counsel Mark Geragos blasted Bravo and NBC Universal for subjecting their reality stars to “grotesque and depraved mistreatment.”
The attorneys claim that the network has tormented current and past cast and crew members of various reality TV shows during their employment.
The allegations include:
— Deliberate attempts to manufacture mental instability by plying cast members with alcohol while depriving them of food and sleep
— Denying mental health treatment to cast members displaying obvious and alarming signs of mental deterioration
— Exploiting minors for uncompensated and sometimes long-term appearances on NBC reality TV shows
— Distributing and/or condoning the distribution of non-consensual pornography
— Covering up acts of sexual violence
— Refusing to allow cast members the freedom to leave their shows, even under dire circumstances
The lawyers also claim that NBC Universal and Bravo have “threatened [cast members] with ruin should they decide to speak out about their mistreatment.”
