RHOM star Guerdy Abraira is proving that bald is beautiful! The Bravoleb shaved her head before beginning chemo to battle breast cancer.
On Wednesday, Real Housewives of Miami star Guerdy Abraira debuted her shaved head on Instagram.
The event stylist explained that she decided to shave her head before beginning chemotherapy to battle breast cancer.
On Instagam, Guerdy Abraira explained:
“CHEMO STARTS NOW – decided to be proactive and shave it off yesterday before I start treatment and before it falls off. Even though this is a hard journey, I’m thankful for everything in my life, including this humbling experience which is making me even stronger. SWIPE ?? to see Russell with those clippers! Thank you also to @plushbeauty_ for doing my glam to make this new look even sweeter. Still planning on rocking wigs here and there, but if you see me out like this…don’t freak out! It’s still me…with way less hair.“
A day later, Guerdy began chemotherapy treatments. The 45-year-old shared a photo of herself hooked up to a chemotherapy machine.
She also opened up on Instagram about how her first chemo treatment went and how she is mentally handling this journey.
“The first round of Chemo Therapy Winner is… ME ? Not gonna lie though the beginning of this 6-hour session, it was a challenge for my body, but I put my “mind over matter” skills into play and kicked its ass. ? ? I will reply to each and all of your encouraging messages I’ve received, I promise while I’m in recovery mode over the next few days,” the Bravoleb shared.
Two months ago, Guerdy announced her diagnosis on social media. The RHOM star explained that she was diagnosed with breast cancer in March after undergoing a “regular mammogram checkup.”
Guedry is married to her husband Russell Abraira. The two are high school sweethearts and have been married for 27 years. They share two sons: Liam, 9, and Miles, 14.
The reality TV star’s battle with breast cancer will most likely be featured on season 6 of RHOM, which is currently in production.
RHOM is expected to return to Bravo for season 6 in late 2023 or early 2024.
