RHONJ’s Melissa Gorga Claims She and Joe Could Have Sued Teresa Giudice & Louie Ruelas for ‘Stealing’ Pizza Oven Business

RHONJ's Melissa Gorga, Joe Gorga, Teresa Giudice, and Louie Ruelas

The claws are out! Melissa Gorga claims she and hubby Joe Gorga should have sued Teresa Giudice and Louie Ruelas over the Pizzagate drama.

The RHONJ cast is still on fire following Pizzagate, and the truth behind who is really at fault for the business deal gone bad.

Throughout season 13 of RHONJ, Teresa Giudice, Louie Ruelas, Melissa Gorga, and Joe Gorga feuded about their failed pizza oven business, with each side pointing the finger at the other.

Now, Melissa Gorga accuses Teresa Giudice and her husband, Louie Ruelas, of trying to steal the pizza oven business idea right out from under her and Joe Gorga.

However, Teresa Giudice insists that’s not the case. Instead, Teresa says she was listening to what Louie told her to do. The RHONJ OG adds that she NEVER wanted to do business with her brother because she knew it wouldn’t end well.

On the June 13 episode of the RHONJ: After Show, Melissa shared her version of events surrounding Pizzagate.

“It was something that he originally said that him and I were gonna do, and I said to him, ‘You really should be doing this with Teresa.’ He’s like, ‘You know what, you’re right. My sister could use the money,’” Melissa explained. “[So] he invited Teresa to do it with him. He said he’d split it with her 50/50.”

According to the 44-year-old, Joe took the idea for Nonno’s pizza oven to Teresa and Louie directly, and Louie was onboard right away.

“Luis was very gung-ho about it. Luis was like, ‘Oh my God, this is genius. We’re in, 100 percent.’ Mind you, we’ve only met him at this point, two months ago,” Melissa noted.

Melissa, who now claims she and Joe had no idea what Louie really did for work, believed the 48-year-old businessman could be an asset to the budding pizza oven company due to his knowledge of marketing.

On the other hand, Louie apparently thought the pizza oven business would be a great opportunity for Teresa and her daughters, which is why he jumped on the idea.

“That’s why he was all in for it… He thought my brother was helping me out,” Teresa explained on the After Show.

She added: “I already knew that my brother wasn’t helping out. I’m like, I know my brother wants half of it. He’s not that kind of brother.”

Teresa admitted that she encouraged Louie to “put everything in writing” when it came to the budding business. However, Louie didn’t want to create a formal contract because it was family, and he “trusted” Joe.

As for how and when the pizza oven business turned sour, Melissa and Teresa have two very different versions of events.

Melissa claims the business “went really sour” when Teresa and Louie left Joe in the dark when it came to steps they were taking to make the pizza oven a reality.

“It went really sour. Obviously, they stole the idea. [Louie] started emailing my nephew, who was the one getting them the pizza thing, with getting him off the emails. They started to really organize this whole thing behind Joe’s back,” Melissa declared, adding that she then found out Teresa participated in a photo shoot with her daughters for the pizza ovens.

Melissa claimed: “I had someone doing my makeup who told me, ‘Oh, I saw Teresa last week. [I] did a photoshoot with her and her girls for this pizza thing they’re coming out with.’ I could cry because it’s very depressing to me.”

She then insists that Louie and Teresa tried to steal the pizza oven idea from Joe and only give him five percent of the company.

“Luis [is] like, ‘Listen, give it to your sister. She needs the money. We’ll give you 5 percent.’ We’re like, ‘You can’t offer 5 percent. If you take the deal, we’re suing you at this point,’” Melissa recalled.

“Nobody was keeping us in the loop. He just did it, and then that’s their way of twisting it to be like, ’Well, we put the money up,’” Melissa added of Louie shelling out $100k for the pizza ovens. “We didn’t even know it was time to put money up because you guys went, took the idea, and f–king flew with it.”

Yet, Teresa insists that she and Louie weren’t trying to hide anything.

“We weren’t trying to hide anything cuz, obviously, they found out from the photographer. Luis was executing it. And that’s the thing: I was only doing what Luis told me to do,” she explained.

Teresa then claims that Joe told Louie that he didn’t need to put any money into the business because he’s famous and that his name would attract customers.

“My brother, he said, ‘I’m a celebrity. I don’t have to put money out,’” Teresa alleged before noting that Louie had already shelled out half a million at that point for the pizza ovens.

While Teresa points out that Louie could have said he wanted “nothing to do with [her]” over this all – he didn’t. Instead, Teresa said Louie told her: “‘Don’t worry about it. I’m a grown man. I made the mistake. Let’s just move on.’ And we did.”

Meanwhile, Melissa says it’s not about the money and insists that she and Joe could have put up the money.

“It’s not f-cking about money. This is not about money. We could’ve put up the money. ‘My boyfriend’s so good cuz look, now he lost all of that money.’ That’s right. Karma’s a b-tch. You should’ve did the right [thing],” Melissa quipped.

Actually, Melissa and Joe, please sue. This would be hilarious. Maybe these two could learn something about business. To sue over an “idea” you actually have to have ownership of an idea like an actual 1. trademark/copyright to the idea that they came up with first and trademarked it , no other pizza oven businesses for sale like it were on the market at the time(not true, there were others online) and the business was compromised thru a written contract, (no) 2. They had some type of government decreed ownership, patten, to the design of the pizza ovens for their trademark business to support it, ( no ) 3.The damaged client/party Invested substantial time and money in their business which they lost , due to the plaintiff , and are trying to recoup, (no, also does not apply as they did not put time or money in the business ). When you file a lawsuit in the US civil legal system you have to show there is one, a case, and two there were damages incurred or potential/future damages.

When will Teresa learn to stop listening to her husbands? Several times in this article she’s quoted as saying “And that’s the thing: I was only doing what Luis told me to do.” Didn’t she do over a year in jail for doing what she “was told to do” by her ex husband. And as far as Melissa and Joe go, Joe has his own business and does deals all the time and I am sure that he makes up contracts for all his jobs and business deals he does. So, why would he tell someone who he basically had just met, about an “investment idea” without having a contract. Especially when everyone from the very beginning, after Luis’ video was exposed, thought he was shady? I lost both my siblings and my parents, and I can tell you that there’s no money in the world that anyone can give me to replace them. This is a classic example of letting fame and the almighty dollar divide families. I truly hope thst the entire family, cousins included, will realize that family is PRICELESS!!!

1. The pizza business idea was not a unique or original idea at the time and there were other similar type companies on the market, there was no “ownership” of the idea Melissa and Joe owned like a trademark, neither was there a legal contract with terms. You have to have one of these in order to sue, if you do not have money and time invested into a business otherwise there is nothing you can sue to regain. They did not own a trademark to the idea, or a government ownership to the design of the ovens, they had not invested time or money in the company itself, so Melissa in the eyes of the law, you have nothing to recoup. You can not sue. Well you can sue, but it would be a frivolous lawsuit.

So...why don't the wh*gas move forward with the pizza oven without Luis...
Nurse Lina Tano June 20, 2023 - 10:24 pm
They can't. Every business they touch turns to debt and lawsuits. They are up to their ears in lawsuits and unpaid bills.

Joe Gorga is horrible at business. He was only marginally "successful" when he was copying Joe Guidice, and we all know how that turned out. He probably thought with Joe in prison he would get all those contracts. Instead, he stole his parents' house to get by, waiting for Tre to get out so he could eat off her again. He's not a natural entrepreneur, just a poor copycat. Hence why he's so broke, always owing someone, and constantly scurrying away from his debt collectors and court cases. There is no one left to steal from. Everyone in Jersey knows him for the scummy rat he is. Meanwhile at envy, Melissa sells fake copycat designer fashions at a premium price. What a pair they make. They do deserve each other. May they live together and be married forever.

Easy to say "we could have put up the money" when its over and you didn't put up the money in the first place. These hags are still talking about Tre and now Luis because they have nothing else going on in their lives.

Exactly. Great points.

Nothing in writing, Not a story and Not a legal case. No agreements, just some false allegations/claims and same old she said she said that no one cares about anymore. Teresa was right "bad idea from the start" Joe can't be trusted. . . .(neither can Teresa or Luis or Melissa for that matter).

I mean, anyone can sue anyone for anything, but I don’t see what makes this an original idea. Its a pizza oven — it’s not like some invention he came up with. I heard they wanted to sell pizza kits with the oven, but that business already exists too. I’d love to see them sue. It would be fun to see how they would argue it in court.
Nurse Lina Tano June 20, 2023 - 10:38 pm
It likely would not even get past the evidentiary hearing. It's all hearsay and supposition. No contracts, no basis for a lawsuit. And what could they sue for? Hurt feelings? He doesn't own the trademark or copyright on pizza ovens. He lost no money. The judge would toss him out on his ear. Luis has more grounds to sue than the gross Gorgas do. Even for slander at this point. The fact that he scrapped it and took the financial loss is unfortunate, but it's a lesson Luis needed to learn. He won't make such a mistake with the JoeGorga again.

The details are waaayyyyy too vague - from both sides. Also now we are supposed to believe that her nephew was doing everything behind their back too???? Obviously, the issue of whether they were a part of this pizza oven business was not clear to anyone, even her own family members! To me, that means the Gorga’s were trying to be shady with putting up the money, but still wanting 50%. P.S. They both destroyed their family for a flop business idea. Pizza ovens would not have been the moneymaker they thought it was going to be!
Nurse Lina Tano June 20, 2023 - 10:29 pm
It's been done in so many ways. Nothing original about it. It's a gimmick business, and could have only been attached to an existing brand.

To answer your question- My thoughts on all of this? I’m over this nonsense, the whole thing makes my head spin!?
Cheli Girl June 20, 2023 - 10:53 am
This article isn't clear to set the record straight that the patent and idea belongs to another establishment in town. Additionally, it was a gorga scam from the beginning. The gorgas allegedly got a cut of the money given to the nephew. Grifters are the gorgas.

Pls expound further. Thanks.

This story just doesn’t add up. Let’s say they were trying to steal the idea and make it their own, why did Melissa’s nephew keep her in the dark? And, why didn’t they continue on with it on their own if that’s what they were essentially trying to do the whole time (per Melissa)? 5% or 0% - can’t imagine that would make a big difference in moving forward if you’re essentially planning to move on your own anyway? I think Joe wouldn’t put up the $$ and Luis was surprised by that so then said fine you can have 5% and he was like no (too big of an ego)… then Luis and Teresa shut it down because they didn’t want the fight?!
Ross June 20, 2023 - 10:17 am
I believe Teresa’s side 100%. Everyone knows that the Gorgas are strapped for liquid cash. The biggest point of contention wasn’t surrounding T and L moving forward. It was due to money as an investment. If the Gorgas really wanted to be in on it they simply would’ve put up the money retroactively.
Nurse Lina Tano June 20, 2023 - 10:31 pm
He wanted 50/50 with no capital investment ...wow. Only in the mind of Joe Gorga would that make sense. The Sharks would laugh him right out of the shark tank.
Zap It June 20, 2023 - 9:32 am
What is the pizza "thing"....can she at least speak clearly. What really happened is Joe Gorga had an idea to sell pizza ovens. He asked Luis if he was interested in being a partner. Luis said yes and spent 100K purchasing pizza ovens. Joe Gorga then said he didn't have to put up any cash because it was his idea and because he's a celebrity. Luis then offered Joe 5 percent because Joe didn't have any money to invest in the business. Joe said no he wanted 50 percent. Luis then shut it all down and is now trying to sell the pizza ovens he purchased to recover some of his losses. Typical Joe Gorga...he's known for stiffing people when it comes to money.
Nurse Lina Tano June 20, 2023 - 10:28 pm
Thank you. That makes a lot kore sense than all the nonsense Melissa is spewing. How she thinks they can win in court when they can't even make sense in an interview,?. There is no contract, no business deal, no profits, so no case. The judge will throw the case out and fine them for wasting his time.
