The Real Housewives of New York alum is clapping back at claims she’s “too old” to wear a bikini!

Luann found herself on the receiving end of some unwanted hate after she posted a series of bikini photos on her Instagram.

While many fans commented on how “gorgeous” Luann looked and what a “hottie” she was, some fans thought the photos were tasteless considering the reality TV star‘s age. FYI, Lu is 57.

“You look wonderful, but Why? This makes you look like you need attention for [the] wrong reasons.
Money can’t buy you class,” one fan commented.

A second fan wrote: “Really, where is [the] class?”

“Oh my lord, she’s a bit thirsty. I feel so sorry for people who are unhappy on the inside. She’s beautiful. She doesn’t have to get likes and follows like this…does she??” a third fan commented.

Another fan quipped, “Way too old, boo!!!!!”

Days later, Luann clapped back at the hate in a new post on her Instagram page.

In a video, Luann said:

“I’m proud of the fact that I can still rock a bikini at this age. Women should be able to wear whatever they want at any age, as long as they feel good.”

She then quoted one of her most iconic lines from RHONY:

Bravo fans and Housewives alike rallied around Luann’s fight against ageism.

“Totally Lu, you look better than a lot of 20-year-olds,” RHOM star Marysol Patton wrote. RHOBH‘s Sutton Stracke agreed, commenting, “Too old for what? I’m confused?”

“Same. And love this stand on ageism. It’s only directed at women – have you ever heard someone say “He’s too old for a bare chest”? NOPE,” one fan wrote.

“Preach girl, preach!” a fan said while another added: “They’re just jealous.”

RHONY is expected to return for season 14 in mid-to-late 2023.

 Luann clapped back at the hate by posting a video on Instagram, expressing her pride in being able to rock a bikini at her age. She emphasized that women should be able to wear whatever they want as long as they feel good.

Luann needs to grow up she is boring. Has no story line and thinks she is better than anyone else. She needs to go all she cares about is having a man and she has a bad picker. She has less class then any other housewives. Dorinda and Bettany are the best of all of them. Dorinda should be back. And if they don't like the fish room then leave. Luann is just jealous of her. Dorinda has the biggest heart and I miss her badly And Ramona being fired should have happen years ago. And nevermind Jill.Zarin she is the thirstisist of all the housewife in the entire franchise. I hate watching Jill she is a bitch and only cates about herself

She didn't address the first two comments which had to do with why does she feel the need to post her pictures like that on Instagram. (Attention is the answer). How good she looks isn't an issue and she knows it.

I doubt that. Most of the originals from NY seem to have genuine money and not be reliant on a Bravo salary to keep them afloat. Either way, why would that impact her posting a pic of her looking hot for her age in a bikini?

Trying to attract a wealthy husband? Ha! She should have plenty of money but that kitchen where she is taking pictures of herself is teeny and looks like it is an inexpensive very small apartment. That is a very small refrigerator and there is only a few feet from the refrigerator door to the oven door. Then there is an interior door with the stove/oven partially blocking it. It isn't hardly usable unless it is blocked off. Why would she live or even rent somewhere like that if she has money.

Because she has stated in the show (or are you another one that has a lot to comment on, without actually watching the show?) that her main house where she resides is outside of the city and she has a small apartment in the city to stay when needed. Plus I am pretty sure there is nothing to suggest that this is her home.

I watched the show until it ended. She showed an apartment in the city in a not recent separate article and this wasn't it. One home is leased to rent that isn't in the city. There may be another home she either lives in or leases. I could care less but she really is a snob so I wonder, but not much. However, I wish the show was still on with all of them except Eboni.

Lu has always been one of my faves. But I didn't get into RHONY until after the season 4 firing massacre, and when I first started watching, I actually wondered if she was a trans and I wasn't even being snarky.
