When it comes to NeNe Leakes vs Bravo Monique Samuels is siding with the Real Housewives of Atlanta OG.
It’s no secret that NeNe is currently suing Bravo for alleged racism on RHOA. In April, NeNe filed a discrimination lawsuit against NBCUniversal, True Entertainment, and Andy Cohen. The former reality TV star says Bravo blacklisted her from getting work. She also claims that Bravo did all they could to stop her from taking any legal action against them for years. As a result, she went from being booked for work constantly to not being able to get a job anywhere in Hollywood.
Monique, who has had her own issue with Bravo following her exit from the Real Housewives of Potomac following season 5, recently weighed in on NeNe’s legal action against the network.
“As far as NeNe with the network, she absolutely has a point,” Monique said on Instagram Live per Urban Belle.
The former Real Housewife says that when it comes to the Housewives franchises that follow women of color “you only see them from one side.”
“If you look at the white housewives show, you’ll see each one as a wife, as a business owner, an entrepreneur. You’ll see them as a Philanthropist, you’ll see all of those things in each and everyone,” Monique explained.
However, when it comes to black Housewives Monique says “it’s almost like the black housewives can’t be a full person.”
Monique also shared a rumor that NeNe is the one who came up with the idea of having a reunion at the end of each season of Real Housewives. This claim is unverified but interesting nonetheless.
“Does she get any credit for that?” Monique quipped before adding that NeNe deserves more credit for “putting housewives on the map.”
The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs on Sundays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
