Jill Zarin and Bethenny Frankel will never be the way they were during the early seasons of the Real Housewives of New York.
Back in May 2021, Jill told Andy Cohen that she would never have a friendship with the Skinnygirl mogul again and now nearly a year later we are finding out why.
The RHONY OG revealed to Page Six that she felt Bethenny used her late husband Bobby Zarin’s funeral in 2018 for publicity.
“She came with cameras [to Bobby’s funeral], which I didn’t know were going to be there, so that changed it for me,” Jill said. “Housewives came without cameras to pay their respects: Dorinda [Medley], Luann [de Lesseps], Ramona [Singer], all came [with] no makeup, no hair, you know, not glammed out.”
As for why she didn’t call Bethenny out over the publicity stunt, Jill said because there was “no reason to.”
“I was so happy to see her that I didn’t question the fact that she was all dressed up, and I just didn’t know,” Jill explained. “I think that’s what it was.”
However, Jill did note that Bethenny came to see her privately after Bobby’s funeral.
“She came to my house to talk without cameras and I really thought that was authentic,” Jill said. “I didn’t know that after she left my house, she was filming with the girls to download them on coming to my house.”
She concluded, “I did feel a bit used.”
Meanwhile, a source close to Bethenny denies Jill’s latest tall tale.
“Jill hasn’t been able to keep Bethenny’s name out of her mouth for a decade,” the source quipped. “Bethenny wishes her well in all her endeavors and hopes she finally gets her apple back (that she has desperately tried to shake from the tree).”
