Alexis Bellino was a cast member on the Real Housewives of Orange County from seasons 5 thru 8. Over four seasons, Bravo followed Alexis’ life as a bubbly, devout Christian and doting wife and mother.
Viewers saw Alexis transition from a stay-at-home mom to a fashion entrepreneur and TV host. They also witnessed Alexis struggle in her “traditional” marriage to her now ex-husband, Jim Bellino.
After four seasons, Alexis’ time on RHOC came to an end and not on her own accord.
In an excerpt from the new Real Housewives tell-all book, “Not All Diamonds and Rosé,” Alexis opens up about being fired from RHOC.
Alexis’ former costar and nemesis, Heather Dubrow, also weighs in on Alexis’ Real Housewives demise.
“I felt like a failure because I was fired,” Alexis admits. “It wasn’t on my terms. I’ve never been fired from anything in my entire life, so I felt sad that I hadn’t held up to the standard I expected from myself.”
According to Heather, Aleix shot herself in the foot by trying to be someone she wasn’t on the show instead of staying true to herself.
“Alexis got talked out of who she is,” Heather noted. “The thing that was fun about her was she was always a little dim, like in a Jessica Simpson, Chrissy Snow kind of way. It made her endearing. But she didn’t want to be seen as that. She thought she was this upstanding citizen who was smart and does no wrong.”
She continued, “If she had embraced her dimness and played it for laughs she probably would still be on because she was hilarious.”
