Going broke? Think again!
Melissa Gorga is shutting down rumors that she and hubby Joe Gorga are “broke” after putting three of their New Jersey homes on the market.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey star chatted with RHONJ, Obsessed and dished about her and Joe’s decision to list their homes.
Melissa and Joe recently turned heads when they listed their two Tom’s River shore homes. The RHONJ couple bought the one home in 2005 for $450,000. They then purchased their second shore home in 2019 for $975,000.
On top of that, they are also selling an investment property in Paterson, NJ, that they purchased in 2018 for $189,000. The Gorgas flipped the home and listed it for $525,000 a month ago.
So, why are Melissa and Joe seemingly having a fire sale on all their properties? Well, Melissa says it’s nothing more than smart business and notes that rumors that they are broke couldn’t be further from the truth.
“And regarding the rumors, let me just clear this up right now. It’s so crazy! You’d think after people knowing us for so many years; they would know that Joe and I do this for a living. Like, we buy homes that the other people probably look at and say, ‘This is a dump. I’d never buy that.’ We pretty much knock them down, and then we build something much nicer,” she quipped
“So when people say, ‘They’re selling everything, they’re broke!’ I’m like, what is wrong with everyone? Why does it automatically have to go to a negative? I’ll never understand that. Why can’t it be that we’re trying to move on up actually?” she continued.
While Melissa and Joe have already received various offers on their first shore home in Tom’s River, Melissa admits she’s having second thoughts about letting go of the property.
“It’s a very hot topic in this house, to be honest with you, because it’s kind of a sore subject right now. I’ll tell you it will be to be continued, I guess. I don’t know that it’s gonna happen because I already have two full offers within one day on the house, and I believe I’m getting cold feet. We haven’t slept in this house in two nights over it, and I don’t know that I’m even going to accept it,” she confessed.
