Kelly Dodd has vowed that“no one is going to cancel” her, so it’s not surprising to hear she’s taking control of her career moving forward.
Months after her firing from the Real Housewives of Orange County, Kelly is launching her next career move with her husband, Rick Leventhal.
The former reality TV couple is set to launch their podcast Rick and Kelly: Unmasked on September 1. The podcast’s title is a nod to the couple’s views of mask-wearing, which they’ve been very vocal about.
The podcast will stream on Patreon, which means that fans will have to pay a fee to listen to Kelly and Rick’s content. This also gives the couple the freedom to openly share their opinions without the fear of being canceled.
“Oh, so we just finished shooting our first podcast right here in the studio, and we cannot wait to share it with you,” Kelly said in a video on Instagram.
Rick added, “So many of you told us that we should do our own show. We obviously listened. I cannot believe that it’s happening after so many months of prepping and planning.”
“We don’t have to censor our content and try to please advertisers,” Kelly explained. “We can say and do pretty much anything, and we won’t have the fear of being fired or canceled or censored.”
In a sneak peek of Kelly and Rick’s podcast, the former Fox News correspondent asks his wife why she has no filter.
“I think there’s something lacking in my brain,” Kelly replies, adding, “I don’t know what it is. It’s bad.”

RHOC is expected to return for season 16 in late 2021 or early 2022.
