Eboni K. Williams Blames RHONY Ratings Slump on Veteran Cast Members; Bravo Considering Permanent Hiatus For Franchise After Disastrous Season

Eboni K. Williams may be the new girl on the Real Housewives of New York block but she’s not taking the heat for the current ratings slump affecting the franchise.

It’s no secret that season 13 of RHONY sucks BIG TIME. Things are so bad that the franchise is seeing its lowest ratings EVER.

Many fans are blaming the ratings slump on Eboni since she’s the newest member of the cast however she thinks the burden should be falling on the show’s veteran cast members.

“From my experience in television, any expectation to carry ratings around a program will go to the veteran talent. So I think it’s nonsense to correlate the ratings performance of a 13-year series to a freshman talent,” she told Insider in an interview last month. “I just don’t buy it.”

Meanwhile, Bravo is reportedly scrambling to figure out a plan on how to move the New York Housewives franchise forward.

The season 13 reunion has been postponed twice and now a source claims the franchise may be put on permanent hiatus.

“There is still no confirmed date to shoot the reunion show after it being postponed twice. First, August 5th is canceled and now the September date has been canceled too. But even more concerning, there is no date to start filming season 14 on the books and talk about putting the show on permanent hiatus,” a source tells Radar Online.

Bravo has done this move in the past with several shows including the Real Housewives of Miami and The People’s Couch.

“The decision about the show’s future is no longer in the hands of Bravo. After all the accusations of racism the decision has gone all the way up to the top bosses at NBC,” the source adds. “The gear is that the show is just too controversial now. Which is why there is talk about shutting it down until things cool off. The last thing they want to do is having this show poison the entire franchise.”

The Real Housewives of New York City airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo.
