Real Housewives of Orange County newbie Noella Bergener’s husband, James Bergener, owes a whole lot of money in back taxes.
James is a personal injury lawyer who runs a successful law firm named Sweet James in Orange County.
According to Radar Online, James owes millions, specifically $5.7 million, in back taxes to the state of California and the Internal Revenue Service.
A federal tax lien was filed against James on June 3, 2021. The lien claims James owes taxes for the years 2018 and 2019. Document claim he refused to pay $1,878,438 for 2018 and $2,166,680 for 2019.
In another tax lien filed on July 7, the State of California says the injury lawyer owes them $1,851,225.04 for 2018 and 2019.
The total for James’ tax debt comes to a whopping $5,896,343.04.
Both liens remain active and have not been released at the time of publication. The address listed on both liens is for James’ law firm.
Season 16 of RHOC recently began filming and has welcomed 3 new cast members: Noella, Dr. Jen Armstrong, and Nicole James.
RHOC is expected to return for season 16 in late 2021 or early 2022.
