New casting rumors for season eight of The Real Housewives of Atlanta have been coming out almost every day since season seven wrapped. It was rumored that two new ladies would be joining the cast, but now those rumors have now been confirmed.
E! News reported that season eight began filming Monday night at Kenya Moore’s hair care line launch party! Two new faces were also in attendance: actress Kim Fields and transgender model Amiyah Scott. A source revealed how Amiyah got a spot on the show.
“Amiya[h] is a friend of Kenya’s,” a source revealed to E! News, “and she was at an event that Kenya threw last night. So she filmed last night. Other than that, she’s having conversations with production. Talks are happening but it’s too soon to say what will come of it.”
No word yet on what Amiyah’s role on the show will be, but according to the source, Kim Fields has been chosen to be a full-time housewife. However, the source also revealed that there was no drama at the party last night between Kim and any of the other ladies.
It is believed that Kim Fields will join the returning cast of Kandi Burruss, Kenya Moore, Cynthia Bailey, Phaedra Parks, and Porsha Williams, who is rumored to be getting her full-time status back. Sheree Whitfield and Marlo Hampton will also be returning to the show. NeNe Leakes has quit the show after seven seasons, and Claudia Jordan was fired after just one season.
