Karent Sierra Defends Her Actions At Lisa’s Lingerie Bash
Karent Sierra – friend or instigator? This is a question that arose on last night’s Real Housewives of Miami where it seemed that Karent’s actions were the source of all drama that ensued!On the latest episode, Karent confronted Marysol for wearing fur because it upset Joanna, who is an animal rights activist and is vehemently against wearing fur! It seemed that Karent was fighting Joanna’s battles and starting something with Marysol. Karent claims she was just trying to make it known that someone else in the group was offended by fur, and that it would have been a nicer conversation than if Joanna confronted Marysol herself. Karent writes in her blog:
Joanna was offended by Marysol wearing fur. We all have the liberty to wear what we like when we want it. But these other women keep saying that the new girls need to prove ourselves to them and make an effort to become friends. Knowing full well that a friend stood for something so important and that it was 85 degrees in Miami, it didn’t seem like Marysol really respected or cared for Joanna’s beliefs. So, why is it that we are the only ones who supposedly need to earn their friendship? I am not saying you can’t wear it, I am just saying couldn’t you choose a party where you knew Joanna wouldn’t be there and where it would be more appropriate to cover up, like in the winter? Just saying… Joanna had asked me to go up to Marysol to find out if it was real fur, because she was livid, and it would be much nicer coming from me than to receive Joanna’s wrath, because she was so hurt that someone in the group could be so insensitive. That is the only reason I went up to her.
Another problem was Joe Francis claiming he had sex with Joanna and Marta! Although Marta may have admitted to doing so, Joanna is persistent that she did not sleep with him. When Joe said this, Karent made sure to relay the message to Joanna and this escalated into a heated fight between Joanna and Joe. Karent claims she was just trying to nip this rumor in the bud, saying:
At Lisa’s lingerie party, Joanna had personally mentioned to me that she couldn’t believe Joe Francis would be attending and he loved spreading lies that he had supposedly slept with her. About 20 minutes after she tells me this, I hear Joe acting all cocky and telling people that he slept with both Krupa sisters. I hate rumors and hearsay, so when I heard him spreading those nasty lies about Joanna, I felt an obligation to nip it in the bud and take Joe directly to Joanna. She has been an amazing friend to me, and I would appreciate it if someone helped me put a stop to someone lying about me immediately.

We all saw Karent ask the sleaze the question, “Did you sleep with them?” so she was not innocent. She then trotted him over to Joanna to push the situation, she is a total instigator and not innocent at all.
As to the fur, not all anti-fur activists are of one mind about vintage fur. Marysol was wearing a feathered jacket passed down two generations and many people who are anti-fur would find that acceptable.
As to Karent warning people about how to behave with Joanna since Joanna is a PETA activist, is she going to tell Lisa to kill her dogs for Joanna’s sake? After all, PETA opposes pet ownership and claims pet ownership is slavery. Is Karent going to talk to all the blind people and tell them that they better not let Joanna see them using guide dogs because PETA assistance animals?
And of course, does Joanna wear leather? eat meat? Should Lisa have served meat and seafood at the party? Maybe Karent should have thrown the food out to keep Joanna from seeing that too since Karent thinks Joanna is too immature to be in the vicinity of people who don’t bend to her beliefs.
If I were Joanna, I would cut Karent loose since Karent thinks Joanna does not have the manners to function in society without her sweeping the way clear of any possible challenge.
Frankly, if I were anyone, I would avoid Karent like the plague she is. She causes trouble and now we know that it is not accidental, it is deliberate.
Cajsa – I wondered that also- why Karent asked him if he slept with both of them. That was a little sketchy. Yes, she was an instigator, and that Joe Francis guy sure did seem believable. Joanna should have just ignored his accusations – since they seem true anyways.
Yes Cajsa!!! Loved it! I believe theres nothing wrong w/ vintage fur. That was passed down to Marysol from her Grandmaother. She had every right to wear it! My Grandmother wore furs too. Yes, Im from a family where we hunt and raise our own food. But I’d be the first to stop someone from abusing an animal.I actually wasnt aware of they’re opinions on owning dogs til your post! Karent should have shut her mouth and stayed out of it. If Joanna was so “outraged” by Marysols fur she should have dealt w/ it herself! Marysol shouldnt have to tip toe around her. Karent wanted to make an ally in Joanna. So she became the “courier pigeon” (Best line!) and was trying to gain Joanna’s loyalty I believe. Especially after Joanna had already given her heads up about Adrianna! I cant stand Karent! Her agenda is so obvious!
And poor Marysol had just walked thru the door and got a lecture from Karent about respecting peoples beliefs . Gimme a break. I really like Marysol.. She is a real lady
ITA!!!! And I’ll add this: I hope no one keeps ice cream or bottles of milk around where Joanna might see them. PETA wants us to start using human breast milk instead, as it’s cruel to milk cows. Seriously, if you can’t co-exist at a party with people who don’t agree with you, then you need to grow up.
Are you kidding me??? PETA really says its cruel to milk cows? Omg they are reaching. I thought cows needed to be milked or it caused them pain or somehing, although I’m the first to admit I’m no cow or farming expert lol. I completely agree with not harming animals and would never buy anything that does in some way, but some of these ideas are a little too much IMO (sorry if that offends anyone). Anyway, I agree about you all about Karent (arg lose the T at the end), she doesn’t seem as “sweet” to me as she’s trying to pretend, they should all be wary of her.

I like Karent. When looking at people’s actions, you have to go by their intent and, to me, her INTENT was not malicious. I think she was trying to be sensitive of Joanna’s feelings regarding the fur. On the other hand, with joe Francis, I don’t think it was right for her to bring him over to Joanna. He was saying things, joanna has a temper; just walk away from joe and change the subject. I thought she handled that situation wrong since it could’ve easily been avoided. I just don’t understand why everyone wants to hate on Karent when she literally hasn’t done anything to anyone. Seriously, everyone’s excuses for not liking her are petty as hell! Grow up, stop knit picking, and just enjoy being on the show.
I have a soft spot for Karent ever since I saw how Alexia mistreated her at the last party (can you say mean girls?) Yes, Karent is kinda annoying, but Alexia was way out of line with her bullying and it seems like she was just searching for a reason to be mean to her. Questioning (belittling) Karent as to why a dentist would need a PR person just reaks of jealousy. I could see why she would want PR; celebrity friends, tiny bit of acting, dating a telenovela guy, now a reality person- it’s not that bizarre that she would want a PR person. Also, why is being a spokesperson for toothpaste (she is a dentist with prior pageant experience, etc) so disgusting to Alexia? Sure, it’s not that big of a deal, but don’t make faces at her for it. We didn’t even get to hear Adrianna tell her how she she silly she looked at the art gallery – It was obnoxious for Karent to jump all over this artist that she knew nothing about. Tacky.
But back to the lingerie party, Karent did kind of act like a “carrier pigeon” as Marysol put it. It looks as if she was trying too hard to have Joanna’s back that she stirred up trouble.
It does appear that Karent is a sh*t-stirrer. And wering fur is a rather delicate issue because some people are quite impassioned about it. Joanna has every right to feel strongly about it, and to align herself with the animal rights/anti-fur side.
I have a few fur coats bequeathed to me by my grandmother, and on those frigid deep-winter days and nights we can get here in NJ, they do keep me warm. I have absolutely no problem if someone wants to express to me that he/she doesn’t agree with my choice of outerwear. I listen. As long as the person expresses himself/herself respectfully, I enjoy learning what they want to say. I always say “thank you for letting me know how you feel and teaching me why you feel that way.” See, respect begets respect.
We don’t even know if Joanna can be calm and polite with people wearing fur. After all, we didn’t see her interact with Marysol, we saw Karent imagine how she would interact – and what an unflattering imagination from a supposed friend. Clearly Karent thinks Joanna has no manners or boundaries and cannot be trusted in polite society, but she’s her friend!

Personally, I think latent should have kept her mouth shut in regards to Marysol’s shawl. To me it looked like an innocent mistake that was taken way out of proportion. I don’t think Marysol went out of her way to offend Joanna. She just wanted to wear something that looked nice and it did! Since Joanna is the activist, she should’ve gone up to Marysol and confronted her about it.
Karent is a nightmare!! She is so annoying with that stupid grin. It’s ridiculous that she went up to Marysol about the fur. Joanna & Karent need to fight their own battles. I believe Karent is so full

Wow, excellent point. I read in Karent’s blog that she and Joanna had heard Joe would be in attendance and that he had already been spreading these rumors, so I think Karent anticipated that was coming up next and beat him to the punch because she is pretty much the most over-zealous person I’ve ever seen. She did no one any favors, and I agree she’s obnoxious but I honestly think she thought she was doing the right thing.

I’m trying with this show but they make it hard. I have a lot and I mean a lot of Hispanic freinds and family. What a cheap white washed, telemundo version of the community. I am very aware of the diversity and complex issues of color in the community. It is clear Bravo is not. It is unbelievable that the “paper bag” test factors into Bravo’s casting decisions.
That’s ok I’m the only jackass of my group of family/friends watching this show. It’s because I like this blog site and therefore I want to participate.

Joe Francis was charged, sued, and convicted of defamation of character to the tune of $20 million-excluding punitive damages yet to be set. And this was just a few months ago.
Defamamation of character means he lied about someone.

Did anyone catch Karent and Joanna on WWHL? I just knew that Joanna would call Karent out and ask her why she approached Joe Francis. I feel like she acted as an instigator when maybe she didn’t mean to, but she should have stayed out of that. I think she is phony. She tries too hard. She and her boyfriend are no longer an item and she was really trying to make us believe that they were solid and so much in love. He was using her. She seems a little dense.
