The men of RHONJ at Joe Gorgas birthday bash

A tweet sent out following the season 14 premiere of RHONJ on Sunday, alleged that Bravo was doing a disservice by allowing the men to be so involved in the drama. Let’s discuss.

On the season 14 premiere episode of RHONJ, fans saw the men get into quite a bit of drama whether it was among themselves or while interacting with the Housewives.

Not only did Paul Connell and John Fuda get into it at Jennifer Fessler‘s birthday party. John and Paulie’s conversation got so heated that the needed to separated by the other men in the group.

John also argued with Teresa Giudice over gossip she was repeating about him allegdly being the biggest drug dealer in Bergen County at one point in time. On top of that, Joe Gorga also lamented over his issues with his sister Teresa and her husband, Louie Ruelas.

RHONJ husbands Joe, Gorga, Frank Catania, John Fuda, Joe Benigno, Nate Cabral, and Jeff Fessler at “family dinner.”

All this drama from the men of RHONJ led some fans to voice their fustration with Sirens Media giving the housewives’ husbands to much power on the show so they feel like the stars and can insert themselves into drama with the women of the cast.

On Bravo account tweeted:

“Problem is Sirens Media made these men feel like they’re the stars. Men need to stay in the men’s place & that’s the back of the room in the darkest corner.”

Another fan agreed, writing: “This! It’s productions fault. They put too much emphasis on the “men.” We don’t want it.”

Other fans couldn’t help but fully support these takes about the men of RHONJ.

“Absolutely agree. It’s weird that these men are so involved in drama. It’s too sassy for me,” one fan wrote.

“Wow never thought of this. But every word is true. Probably the only franchise we sometimes see more of the men than the women . Stopped watching married to medicine for this reason,” a second fan commented.

John Fuda claims that he is Teresa Giudice’s only storyline on RHONJ.

A third fan shared: “The interaction between Tre and John Fuda felt disgusting. I almost fast forwarded that part because It was totally unnecessary for production to even allow that!”

“Real men don’t get involved in women relationships,” another added.

RHONJ airs on Sundays at 8 pm on Bravo.

It is the only RH show where the men are paid appearance fees. Bravo really wanted Joe Gorga. That is why they are filmed so much and get involved in interviews (although all of them do way too much of that, IMO). Bravo chooses how much of them to air on TV. I agree, in general they have been an asset to counteract all the screaming. Luis changed all that last season.

This is so true! The only husbands that I’ve ever liked on the show (Joe Giudice, Chris Laurita, Luis, Bill, Evan, Paulie, and Nate) have always stayed out of the drama and even try to de-escalate conflicts. The show is about houseWIVES, not the husbands.

It was great without one house husband, Luis, part of the time. So he had to run to Florida to check in on or console Alexis? Did she know her husband was planning to divorce her then? Or was he there for his alleged involvement with Scientology? Or just sitting at the house smoking pot and scheming? Inquiring minds want to know. :) The fact is that he couldn't be at the party because the plan was for both Fudas to yell at Teresa for spreading the rumor John is the biggest drug dealer in a county. Teresa had to look like the helpless damsel with the mean guy yelling at her according to plan. The plan wouldn't work if he was there. Seems like it worked with some viewers, IMO.

If you really want to know, the first part was obviously messing around based on "rumors" except the pot smoking and scheming was based on his own words in early 2020 saying he smokes (or does) marijuana every day and sits in a hot tub or sauna and schemes an hour a day typically. (He is probably better to be around with pot. He said his fiance, Vanessa thought so.) The second paragraph was a fact since I already heard and read about their script. No way could he be at that party or she couldn't have the fight with the Fudas the way it went down. So Teresa blatantly lied. Saying such a ridiculous lie since he has no business, especially in Florida (except the one he says he was fired from), gives speculation exactly as I mentioned. That may have been intentional, however.

Joe is the popular one in the Gorga household, Melissa is his sidekick. Same with Fuda, Rachel is another sidekick. The way those two talk to women is so disrespectful. I like to see fun camaraderie between the guys but some try to outdo the women! Joe Benigno is known for his messy one liners especially when he bought up the rumor of Evan cheating at boys night. The guys are too involved with drama.

It is different watching this show after already listening to the script(via MON) written by Teresa, Luis, Aydin and James Leonard. Obviously Teresa and Luis are terrible actors although very, very skilled and experienced with lying. Aydin is bad, too. Now I'm wondering if Dolores and Paul were in on it when they went to dinner with Teresa and Luis. So if Bravo doesn't do something they are complicit. Seems the same as with Kyle on RHBH. (Teresa gets the screechy voice when she is lying or pretending.)

Bill better not wait on Olivia to graduate HS to dump her. He is no prize, either but can certainly attract an educated, professional, decent, intelligent, younger, attractive woman who would be a far better role model to his kids than his despicable wife. She isn't satisfied with him anyway because he doesn't love her. He should do it while she is still employed by bravo which hopefully will end this year. Yes, I just watched that scene today and I think Dolores knew the script and told Paul so they played their part. RHs is way more contrived and fake than I gave it credit for! BH is obvious because of Kyle. SLC is obvious because Heather and production are tight.

She complained about him sleeping in the pool house when she first started and that the two girls slept with her! If they stop paying them (appearance fees), they'll be on less. In my opinion, most of the time they are the only ones that are entertaining. It went downhill fast with the addition of the sociopathic one (Luis). For this season, Teresa plotted to get a reaction from Fuda to have a storyline with angry John yelling at poor helpless female Teresa. He fell into it but can't blame him. She and Luis are to blame for too much house husband fighting starting last season so just get rid of them (and Aydin).

Luis started it last season by threatening and intimidating them after informing them he hired a PI to investigate all of them. As planned, he used the info against the ones he deems Teresa's "enemies", so blame the sociopath, Teresa and Aydin for the drama. It was planned by Teresa, Aydin, Luis and Teresa's lawyer, James Leonard, with help from a blogger, this site and another tabloid site. Fuda fell in to it for sure.

From my experience this site has a long reputation of the site trolls coming out after any one who bad mouths Giudice. I found it is true. They get personal, nasty and even vulgar (FIRST) over and over to get people to leave because the site is dependent on Giudice to some extent. IMO based on experience. Joe Gorga's known faults have been criticized heavily the past 13 years. Even worse are all the lies compliments of his despicable sibling. From the moment Luis threatened and intimidated everyone (including the women!) blabbing that he hired a PI to "investigate every one of you", he was the worst house husband I've ever seen. He's only been on 1 1/2 seasons plus 1 episode (or was he even on at all?) Then outside of the show he used the info with the anonymous letter lying about Fuda. Aydin provided it to this site via MON! Then he used the info in cahoots with Teresa, Aydin, Teresa's lawyer, MON and this site made him worse than all the bad house husbands put together, including Teresa's other husband in my opinion.

Agreed! Small doses here and there an episode are fine, but the HW should always be the main event! And I have said this even for Melissa and Rachel, I think Joe and John have no business being on media interviews with them, those are those ladies interviews, especially Rachal she has every right to still be establishing her own character right now. I have said this for years about Melissa, you can go back and see my messages about it, I believe even her own standing would be stronger if she did not have to share the spotlight so much with Joe in the media. A little of the men is fine, but the guy should not be doing their own media and if their scenes are taking up more than 25% of the show, the give them their own show Bravo at that point and if people want to watch the men of NJ instead they can. SouthernCharm, VPR, Summer House over the years have always favored the men and Housewives was more for the women on Bravo. On NJ the needle is just swinging too far a bit now.

I hate seeing the interviews, the really great interview opportunities for the ladies, and the guys talk 75% of the time. I don’t think they plan to they just get excited and these are big personalities Luis, Joe, John. Teresa does about 2/3 of her interviews I would say on her own, a little less with Luis now but I just think it’s the ladies show, they should have more of the spotlight. On the other cities, the husbands accompany the HW wives almost to zero interviews.I just think it is important especially for new HW just making a name for themselves, who knows how many seasons they will have, should be their time, (just my thought, I am more for the women.)

He has to so he can tell her what to say when she has her mouth hanging open and goes, "whaaa?" The best was a tiktok (I think) interview at bravocon. The question was something that incriminated Luis and not only she couldn't talk but she started rapidly blinking her eyes to the point of it being weird. Finally, Luis chimed in with lies and then said, "Melissa started it" and then Teresa got her composure and squawked, "YEAHH, it is Melissa's fault". I wish I could find it. (These people don't see the big picture and don't want to. They fell into the Fuda is the bad guy plan.) (So the NY chatter is the last reunion or what?? I'm actually watching it now. So Bravo is breaking the 4th wall as a major part of the show? No wonder it is so bad.)

She also did the dumb look, mouth hanging open and "whaa" in a panel at bravocon when the cool woman asked Luis to say in 10 words or less what his job is. Too funny. Apparently he didn't understand the question because he couldn't do it with his double talk, lying crap. He didn't have a job. Still doesn't as far as we, the viewers know.

He "encourages her". That's his job. lol Even her daughters must be picking up on the fact that this guy is a sham. They're probably just glad to have a roof over their heads. Still locking their bedroom doors at night I'm sure. Yuck

I just don’t like them gossiping with each other about their wives issues with the other wives. Seriously what guys do that?! It’s weird. Now them speaking on their wives issues with the other housewives to their own wives I get it . That natural . As far as them going on interviews, I get it ,for support, but actually being a part of the interview. Yeah no,. I feel this way about all the guys, I’m not single out any one .

Support is fine, and even a question or two, it’s when they take over. NJ is really the only city where the men go with many of the HW to interviews if you notice and for some of the HWs it is every single interview the Husband is with them and that is too much. NJ still needs to be a Housewives show!

They are probably supposed to. They are the only one with the house husbands/boyfriends paid ("appearance fees" like Gia has been since she was 18). I have to wonder if that started in Season 1 or started in Season 3 because they really wanted Joe Gorga.
