RHOP OG Karen Huger charged with DUI following car crash

The word on the street is that RHOP OG Karen Huger has been charged with DUI following a car crash in Potomac on Tuesday night. Get all details!

TMZ reports that the Grand Dame of Potomac has been charged with driving under the influence in connection to a car crash she was involved in earlier this week. She has also been slapped with numerous traffic violations.

Per online records, the RHOP star is facing one count of DUI as well as additional DWI charges. Karen Huger will need to make a mandatory court appearance to address the charges against her.

Karen Huger also faces several other alleged infractions including everything from “negligent and reckless driving to driving way over the speed limit and driving with a suspended registration.” The six traffic violations all have fines attached to them which range from $50 to $510.

Last Tuesday night, the RHOP star was aggressively driving her 2017 Maserati in Potomac, Maryland where she and husband, Ray Huger reside.

According to police, Karen “struck a median and crosswalk sign at an intersection before continuing on and colliding with a parking sign off the roadway.”

While Karen was “doing fine after the accident” the same can’t be said for her vehicle which is badly damaged. While talking to TMZ after the crash, Karen chalked the accident up to “driving while in a super emotional state.”

Karen said she went to dinner with a friend where the two engaged in conversation about some emotional topics, including her deceased mother. She says she left the dinner crying as she attempted to drive home. Yet, her journey was interrupted when she swerved to avoid a car coming straight at her.

The Bravoleb was NOT arrested at the scene and was not booked into jail however after further investigation by Montgomery County PD Karen was later charged with DUI and several other driving violations.

This isn’t the first Karen has been charged with driving under the influence. Over a decade ago, long before she starred, on RHOP, Karen pled guilty to “Driving While Impaired By Alcohol” and received probation.

Hilarious that she tried to blame it on discussing emotional topics and her mother's passing (which was how long ago now?). You can attempt to shift as much as you want, the truth is out now. Is Maryland a DUI & DWI state? Regardless...BUSTED, KAREN!!

In Maryland, refusing to submit to either a blood, breath, or urine test to determine the presence of drugs or alcohol, he or she will face additional punishments - usually automatic 270 days suspension. It's basically an admission of guilt, but something tells me she's too stupid to know that.

She is so damn dumb to refuse but I do agree with you, she is not the smartest kid in class. She should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. I saw the pictures on TMZ and she is lucky she is alive. How can these housewives be so dumb to drive drunk?

I agree with you 100%!!!! Don't these drunken HW's have money for an UBER? They indeed should be fired. Where I live we have a "Party Bus" that will pick you up and drive you home. Every Saturday night it is jam packed ?

Apparently this isn't the first time she's had trouble with driving while intoxicated. It's been reported that she's previously had her license suspended, so she knew better and went ahead anyway. Probably thought it wouldn't happen to her twice. I'm so tired of Karen using the excuse of her mother's death as a reason for her horrible behavior. I'm surprised she hasn't blame Gizelle and Robyn for it, like she usually does.

Sh happens, but I think there needs to be some kind of disciplinary action for these HW's, like contract canceled ... period. I thought everyone was over reacting when Shannon had her accident, but then when I saw the TMZ video her careening around the residential streets I was like oh hell no. It's actually outrageous that they are still employed.

I've said all along that if a HW commits a serious crime that they're guilty of in a court or gets involved in a physical altercation with another cast member, they should be fired immediately. No criminal should have their bad behavior rewarded with a big contract and put on tv. All that does is lead to worse behavior, which is how these franchises have gotten worse and worse, to the point that no one wants to watch them any longer.
