Teddi Mellencamp Shares Major Update on Skin Cancer Battle

Teddi Mellencamp battling stage 2 melanoma

RHOBH alum Teddi Mellencamp shares an update on her skin cancer battle and reveals that immunotherapy treatment “did not work.”

Teddi Mellencamp has hit a bump in the road on her skin cancer journey.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, who has been battling skin cancer for almost two years, revealed on Tuesday that the topical cream immunotherapy treatment she’d been doing for the last three months “did not work.”

The Two T’s in a Pod podcast host shared the update on Instagram, writing:

Long story short: The immunotherapy treatment did not work on my melanomas. I had a wide excision removal on my most recent melanoma last week to see if it did, and sadly, it did not.

I have been presented with a couple [of] new options, and I have decided with my doctors that the best next course of action is to have surgery on December 26th to remove a larger portion of the problematic area. I don’t like going under, and my anxiety is popping off, but I have faith all will be ok and that the reason this is happening to me is because I am able to raise awareness.

After surgery, when god willing, my margins are clear, we will continue to monitor my body closely every three months. In the meantime, I am looking forward to spending Christmas with my loved ones and hope this is a reminder to book your skin checks for the new year #skincancerawareness.

In October 2022, Teddi Mellencamp was diagnosed with stage 2 Melanoma just eight months after having her first skin cancer scare.

“Melanoma awareness update. Despite my anxiety, I listened to the doctors and went in for my 3-month skin check last week since my previous melanoma. They said I had another abnormal spot near my last one, so they did a biopsy. I got the call this morning: Stage 2 melanoma. Now, next Wednesday, I go to an oncologist to have it cut out and come up with a game plan on [the] next steps. Of course, this is all pending some additional testing and biopsies of other spots nearby that were taken today,”  the 42-year-old explained on Instagram at the time.

Back in March 2022, Teddi Mellencamp first shared several photos of a scary-looking mole that she recently had removed after it changed color. She revealed that her BFF and former RHOBH co-star Kyle Richards noticed the mole had changed shape and urged her to get it checked out.

John Mellencamp's daughter is from the "ME" generation who runs to her SM before even letting her loved ones in on what's happening.

Do we really need a blow by blow description of this? Complete with pictures? How self-centered! Thank goodness she does not have hemorrhoids!

I think it's a great way to bring awareness to others.

Come on man. I'm not a fan of John Mellencamp's son-in-law's children's mother either but this is absolutely bringing awareness for people to get checked.

Not a fan of teddi but working in oncology and specifically melanoma this is not a situation where I would ever say been there done that. Depending on the type of stage 2 it can actually be worse than stage 3. There is a risk of reoccurring and having metastasis. Sad to hear her adjuvant therapy wasn’t beneficial. Praying for her.

I don't think it was really meant the way it came out. She went through it so she knows how scary it is. So happy she's well and wishing the best for Teddi.

So dramatic. They cut out the melanoma, and then, unfortunately, they did not cut out enough so they had to go back. “Monitor her body“.every three months? Lol. Complicated way of saying she will now go to the dermatologist every three months for an exam. That eventually it will be every six months and then at some point just once a year. She will be fine. Been there, done that.

I'm glad it worked out for you and that you're healthy. It's scary to go through that!

Thank you. I was very surprised as I don't even go in the sun! Maybe my youth catching up to me? Unless it is an advanced stage which would be truly scary and sad, we are so fortunate to have doctors and surgeons that can address these things so quickly and thoroughly. And with her money, she has the best care. She will have to go to the derm's office more often so the physician can take a look see. She is fortunate.

Make sure you keep monitoring that. I'm sure you do. :-)

Obviously an unpopular opinion, but I share your skepticism. The medical e$tabli$hment now has her in their clutche$ ... right where they want her.
