First Look: Hulu’s Reality Reckoning Special Featuring Bethenny, Leah McSweeney & More!

A preview of Hulu's new special: Reality Reckoning?

Reality Reckoning? Bethenny Frankel & other Real Housewives stars speak to “Impact x Nightline” about issues within the toxic reality TV industry.

A new reality TV documentary special on Hulu featuring former Real Housewives of New York stars Bethenny Frankel and Leah McSweeney dives into the discussion about whether or not a reality reckoning needs to occur within the reality TV industry or not.

Numerous reality stars talk about changes that need to occur in the reality TV industry to protect its stars better and ensure a safe and respectful working environment.

According to Bethenny, the entire reality TV industry must be overhauled as it is a toxic environment full of growing problems, including “exploitation, gaslighting, manipulation, and inhumane working conditions.”

Bethenny has made it clear that she thinks Bravo exploits its stars’ personal issues, including substance abuse, divorce, bankruptcy, lawsuits, and alcoholism, for the sake of a storyline and high ratings, which at the end of the day equals higher ad sales and profit.

However, one expert notes, “They are signing up for all of this.”

In the trailer for ABC News’ “Impact x Nightline: Reality Reckoning?” special, available on Hulu, Bethenny insists that Real Housewives executive producer Andy Cohen never made her famous.

The RHONY OG instead says, “[Andy] didn’t make me a star. He made himself a star on the backs of all these women.”

When asked if she is “biting the hand that fed her” all these years, Bethenny replies, “It’s time.”

Of course, fans had much to say about the trailer for Hulu’s Reality Reckoning.

“I’m sorry what? She was selling muffins in a grocery store before she landed RHONY (thanks to Jill Zarin),” one fan commented.

“I’d watch a ten-hour Teddi Mellencamp interview before I’d watch this garbage,” a second fan wrote.

A third quipped: “So weird that someone (B) would recommend her friend (Leah) to join a show that she was leaving if it were so toxic.”

“Let’s talk to some of B’s former employees and ask how she treated them. Now’s that’s something I’d watch!” a fourth fan noted.

Bethenny Frankel slams Andy Cohen for poking fun at recent allegations against Bravo

“I’m sure it is all true, BUT…they signed up for it and came back year after year,” someone else commented. Another wrote in agreement, “She done enough of shows to suddenly hate it ???bethenny ever after, housewives, bethenny and Frederick the list goes on.”

Another fan commented: “I watched and she’s not wrong ????? lover her and Andy and bravo. No side to pick just better humane treatment, pay and conditions to be had.”

“They signed up for it! They all got to promote themselves,” a fan added.

“I can smell the desperation through the screen,” a fan quipped while another noted: “It’s interesting how she is repeating what Carol has said for years.”

ABC News’ “Impact x Nightline: Reality Reckoning?” special is currently available to watch on Hulu.

Yo Leah. You are a white trash fucking loser. I hope you read this. You are probably the worst thing that’s ever happened to bravo. You fucking suck. Everything about you sucks. Happy new year

Bu-fucking-hu. Nowadays, they all know what they're geting in to, and they gladly do it for the spotlight and money that comes with it. I'm so tired of especially Leah McSweeney and her victim mentality. She destroyed RHONY, with her antics. Fuck her.

Reality TV has now been around for decades. If anyone signs on to a show, they’re stupid for not understanding you’re selling your soul. You reap what you sow.

I never liked Bethenny, but gave her credit for the hustle that made her rich and famous. Unfortunately, she sold her soul in that hustle, along with any right to complain, while getting her riches. Now that she no longer needs Andy and what he offers, suddenly she's trying to act all high and mighty. And, she's doing exactly what she accuse him of doing. She's using naive Rachel and butt-hurt Leah (etc) to pretend some moral high ground. This, to me is the same so many (in my opinion) did when they highjacked the me-too movement. They get all they can get from the situations, then once they get old and irrelevant, suddenly it's so wrong! I just think this behavior is to make themselves even more money, using the ones she is pretending to help. Shame on her... Goodbye Ms Andy Frankel!

Having to put Leah on is scraping the bottom of the barrel.

This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. He made her a multi-millionaire. No way she would have reached that level of fame without the show. Plus, these people sell their souls to the devil and then want us to feel bad for them as they parade around with their Chanel bags and designer clothes? These people are insane.

Bethenny would have been far better off producing this herself, because unfortunately, the victimology and lack of personal responsibility on her (and especially Leah's) part cancels out any support I might have for an otherwise worthy cause. Leah was not the one ... what she needed was a couple of powerhouses like NeNe, or Ramona, or even Brandi.

Leah is an example of someone who should have been fired to "protect" other employees and not an example of some kind of freaking "victim". Bethenny is tainting her cause with Leah. Leah was let go from NY and then she was rehired for UGT. For sure they should have not hired some childish selfish bipolar woman! So is the beef they exploit dumb, aggressive mentally ill women? I agree and they shouldn't hire them but that is what makes them $$. I'm all for ending it along with all the trashy reality shows that will end. Yet what about the aggressive, violent ones like Jennifer Aydin and Teresa Giudice, for example who intentionally throw objects at co-workers or shove them, etc? They are rewarded instead of being fired. So much for expecting a safe workplace environment.

I will get hulu for this and this alone. Andy's uppance needs to come. Unfortunately, the money he made off the backs of women can buy his career safety and security so nothing meaningful will come of it. But at least people will know what goes on with these "reality" shows and what a POS he really is. His idiotic mother must be so proud of all that he's accomplished.

OK. I got Hulu and watched this. It pains me to say this, because I've personally encountered reality show producers, and they really are cockroaches. But going on these shows is a choice. This brand of woman wants the glamorous elite lifestyle, and they want to show off all their stuff, and want to see and be seen, and they want to make more money so they can show off more stuff. To pretend you don't know there's a price to that is bullshit. If you are a mentally ill alcoholic, and you do not understand that going on a reality show will affect your sobriety and mental illness, then you're in for a lesson. Andy Cohen is the devil. Full stop.
