Andy Cohen calls out RHONJ's Jennifer Aydin over body-shaming comment at BravoCon

Andy Cohen reveals that he is “very disappointed” in RHONJ star Jennifer Aydin over body-shaming incident with a fan at BravoCon.

The Big Daddy of Bravo isn’t happy with Real Housewives of New Jersey star Jennifer Aydin after she body-shamed a fan at BravoCon, who shaded her for being up Teresa Giudice’s butt.

“Has Jennifer apologized or anything?” Andy Cohen asked on his SiriusXM radio show, Andy Cohen Live.

Andy’s co-host confirmed that Jennifer didn’t apologize. He then explained that instead of apologizing, the RHONJ star doubled down on her comments from BravoCon.

“No! No! Oh, this is very disappointing,” Andy admitted. “I don’t like this. I don’t like this … That’s a fan that paid to be there.”

He added, “Come on, Jenn. Don’t double down.”

However, Andy did acknowledge that the fan’s comment wasn’t “nice” either.

“The way they asked the question, ‘Why are you so far up Teresa’s a–,’ it’s not nice … But it doesn’t deserve making fun of someone’s size. They’re not saying, ‘You’re a horrible person.’ That’s nothing worse than I’ve ever asked,” he continued.

During part two of the Real Housewives of New Jersey panel at BravoCon, Jennifer clapped back at a shady fan who asked her: “Do you think you could crawl any further up Teresa Giudice’s ass?”

The 46-year-old jumped up and schooled the RHONJ fan on what it means to have “good friends” while repeatedly referring to the woman dressed in a baseball cap and oversized sweatshirt as “big boy.”

Despite receiving heat and backlash from RHONJ fans on social media, Jennifer stood behind her behavior.

On Twitter, the RHONJ star explained:

“My daughters would never start with something rude, and if they did, [they] would deserve a response- & they know that. You can’t be rude to someone and then be shocked when they say something rude back. Actions have consequences.”

“Disappointed that they said something so rude and that they deserved it. That’s exactly how I feel. Bad behavior has repercussions. So Live and learn and just Be Nice!”

The mom of five went on to say, “I took time away from my precious family to go to Vegas so I can be with all the amazing fans-to hug, engage & encourage them -to spread love, not hate. So, I won’t take negativity from anyone w/out giving it back. Don’t come 4 me unless you wanna come back from me.”

This is where Andy is loses me. What about last bravocon where there is proof of the Gorga attacking her? How about the constant rude attacks she gets ? Because a person buys a ticket doesn’t mean they pay for being trashy toward a tv personality either . How about Andy start protecting his moneymakers instead of also being nasty to those who picks and chooses. Such bullshit

Two co-workers got in a pee contest LAST year with another one. No attacks. That is what they do on the show, too. Jennifer was vulgar, loud and nasty to co workers since her first season. She even broke a glass and held it up to threaten Melissa because she didn't like something she said. She was put in time out for a few days for fighting with Danielle (who no doubt she perceives as a threat for her job, IMO.) The HUGE difference is this person wasn't a co-worker. She was a fan of bravo who spent a lot of money and time to attend. She said it was her third year. By the way, she said her original question to the panel was going to be for Jackie and why has she appeared to be changing friendships or whatever. She said as she waited for a while, she noticed how Jennifer constantly spoke for and interrupted Teresa, Luis, Dolores and even the moderator (who called her out for it!). So by the time she got up there to ask the question, it was so annoying that she asked Jennifer a question instead!

Jennifer could have criticized the question not the person. Jennifer responded to a rude question by making fun of how that person looked? Are we still in middle school? Actually the way that Jennifer handled herself in this incident answers the question that was asked. Jennifer makes herself more & more unlikable!

Right! That is who she is and was looking for a fight! She could have stayed in her seat, answered the question like she did and then put her down for the way she asked the question. She had no right to complain about the question, however, IMO, just the words used. Instead, she got up and pranced around, shouting at her to come back by insulting her by calling her a boy and also big, dragged Teresa into the word fight and so on.

If she had said it politely like, for example, "Could you be any more of a sycophant to Teresa?", Jennifer wouldn't have know what it meant. Ha! In any other convention-like setting it would be a totally inappropriate way to ask the question and so would the question be rude. Jennifer's way of communicating is vulgar and asking a legit question that way at a trash TV convention wasn't so far out of line, IMO.

Says who!? It isn't a contest. Geez. I haven't noticed anyone kissing her butt when she is wrong over and over for years now. Dolores is another one that will never call out Teresa when she is wrong but she doesn't go to the extreme like Jennifer, although fans of the show have complained about it. Nobody kisses Melissa's butt to the extreme so that might be why nobody asked Melissa the same question at bravocon, that we know of. So to attempt to answer your question IMO, if it happens in the future to the extent that Jennifer does it with Teresa and even Luis, then viewers will point it out. Meanwhile, pointing out the flaws and wrongdoings of Jennifer, Teresa and Luis has nothing to do with any affinity or lack of for Melissa or Teresa's brother. (Lessor of the evils.)

Serious. The only one enlisted by someone to go after someone on NJ is Jennifer Aydin. Dolores' job is to not call out Teresa when she lies or is wrong. What you seem to describe is evident on BH, however. Nobody "goes after" Teresa which is a shame.

She didn't complain. She clarified that she was not paid (because of all the gossip about it) and said trying to get her attention calling her "big boy" after she was walking away and saying she "waddled like a whale" on social media didn't bother her. It is viewers complaining about Jennifer. However it is mute because Jennifer likes to be nasty and name call, IMO. The fan gave Teresa and Jennifer some fun-ha. Actually the fan turned it into something positive afterwards.

So who else besides Jennifer was "attacked" according to you, at bravocon by a fan? I totally agree with your first sentence. However, that is the norm on trashy reality TV like Bravo HW shows. My thought is to get rid of the worst ones guilty of it and Jennifer qualifies with her vulgar mouth, aggressiveness and drunken antics for starters (with five kids at home!)

I meant she was also attacked by Joe and Melissa - to clarify - last bravocon . So why would Andrew be pressed over this instead of employees , with footage by the way , attacking her unprovoked? Why is going after people ok and acceptable in any capacity?

Andrew isn't pressed but apparently felt the need to act like it in that point in time. He may be also be working on a reason to get rid of her since he was obviously annoyed with her (justifiably) at the last reunion for her admitting she was "running the narrative". Aydin is violent and treats people horribly and he never worried about it before so why would he care about a year ago when she got in a pee contest with either Joe or Melissa outside of filming. The show exploits stupid messed up people but I think she is about to expire, just like Teresa. I also think they might replace Teresa with Danielle if they don't cancel it and start over.

This same article was elsewhere three days ago. Also, the fan had something to say later which was interesting and makes her come across as a decent and intelligent person unlike Jennifer. She is also turning the bad scene into something positive to help others.

I do agree that what the fan said ( and how she said it.) wasn’t cool. But she ( in my opinion) did not deserve Jennifer’s response. That really wasn’t cool! Jennifer should have handled this fan better. And she should’ve apologized instead of doubling down and making excuses. You were all kinds of wrong Jennifer.

You might like the fan's post afterwards explaining some things. (Seriously). This article was on another site (RB) 3 days ago and a commenter posted a link showing what the woman had to say (Gabby from Philly). One thing was she had no intention of asking Jennifer a question but as she waited in line forever to ask a question (to someone else), plus it was the last day and she was sick of it, she was annoyed noticing how Jennifer interrupted everyone on the panel, including the moderator. She also tried to speak for Teresa and Luis.
