Kenya Moore Says RHOA Needs Serious Casting Shakeup But Not a Reboot

Kenya Moore admits RHOA needs a casting shakeup but warns fans about pushing Bravo for an entire reboot of the franchise.

This week, Carlos King continued his sitdown with Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kenya Moore. During part two of their interview, Carlos and Kenya discussed the changes needed to reinvigorate the RHOA franchise.

According to Kenya, RHOA needs a major casting shakeup going into season 16 of the franchise. However, she is quick to note that she does not believe that the Atlanta Housewives franchise needs a full reboot like the Real Housewives of New York recently received.

“You gotta do some serious casting changes for sure. I don’t think the answer is a reboot. I know they’ve been tossing that around,” Kenya said on Carlos King’s Reality With the King podcast.

She then warned fans to be careful what they wish for when it comes to a reboot because, for years, they begged for Marlo Hampton to be made a full-time Housewife, which hasn’t helped improve the franchise at all.

“You know, you hear the fans or whatever tossing that kind of stuff around. Be careful what you ask for. Be careful what you ask for because y’all, the same people that asked for Marlow to have a peach, and look where we are now. Be very careful. Be very careful,” she warned.

Marlo Hampton says Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kenya Moore is not excited that Bravo gave her a peach.

RHOA currently stars Kandi BurrussKenya MooreShereé WhitfieldDrew SidoraMarlo Hampton, and Sanya Richards-Ross.

Season 15 of RHOA has seen the franchise continually lose viewership week after week. This season, most episodes of RHOA have averaged 748,500 viewers. This is a far cry from seasons past. Last season, RHOA averaged 950,000 viewers per episode. Meanwhile, the franchise had an average viewership of f 1.8 million and 1.25 million during seasons 12 and 13.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs Sundays at 8 p.m. on Bravo.

As they did with OC, bring some OGs back. . .Nene, Kim, Phaedra, Porsha, Eva . . .And pay them for the ratings they bring in. Bye Drew, Bye Sanya and Bye all these "extra" friends that NO ONE cares about. Its an easy fix, but it will cost $$$ and some peaches/egos will be bruised.

Correct, PJC, but will Bravo do that though?

The show would be a snooze fest without her shenanigans. What they need is someone just as clever and devious as she is to read her and put her in her place like Phaedra did. Dimwits can’t do it. Kenya’s too smart for their lame and ineffective reads. She needs a worthy opponent. She hasn’t really had one since Phaedra. https://media2.giphy.com/media/HmpZARRqqG9Bm/giphy-downsized-small.mp4
