Cannoli wars? Real Housewives of New Jersey OG Teresa Giudice is accused of copying her cousin Kathy Wakile’s signature cannoli dish.
Bravo fans accuse Teresa of taking a page from her cousin Kathy‘s dessert book for a new recipe on her YouTube show, “Cook with Love.”
Teresa, who has released numerous best-selling cookbooks, posted a cannoli cupcake recipe to her YouTube, but instead of receiving rave reviews, the mom of four was accused of copying her cousin and fellow cookbook author.
“Hi, guys! It’s Teresa Giudice! Welcome back,” the Bravoleb said in the video. “Today we’re making dessert! I’m making the Holy Cannoli Cupcakes.”
While Teresa admitted that the Sicilian delicacy can be “intimidating,” she insisted that her take on the dessert is “really easy” and “fun to make.”
Critics of the Turning the Tables author accused her of copying her cousin Kathy. Kathy is known for her cannolis. She infamously made a gigantic cannoli for Thanksgiving during season 3 of Real Housewives of New Jersey. She then released a cannoli kit alongside her desert cookbook, Indulge.
“She copied her cousin Kathy!” one fan commented. A second fan asked: “Is it @kathywakile[‘s] cannoli recipe? Cause they are delicious.”
“Not Kathy’s dessert!,” a third fan quipped while a fourth added, “@kathywakile is the Queen Of Cannoli!!!! Sorry!”
However, Teresa’s fans, known as Tre Huggers, quickly came to her defense.
“Kathy didn’t invent cannolis,” one Teresa supporter noted, while another pointed out, “Those are common Italian desserts.”
Teresa and Kathy have a long history of feuding and mutually agreed to steer clear of each other following season 7 of RHONJ. Teresa is the last remaining OG still a part of the RHONJ cast. As for Kathy, she joined RHONj during season 3 and starred on the show for three seasons before being demoted to a “friend of” for Seasons 6 and 7.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey will return to Bravo for season 14 in 2024.
