In an exclusive chat with AllAboutTRH, Paulie Connell responds to Margaret Josephs‘ recent dig at his relationship with Dolores Catania.

On this week’s episode of RHONJ, fans saw Paulie tell Frank Catania that he plans to ask Dolores to marry him and already has a ring ready to go for when the time comes.

This announcement then turned into a hot topic of discussion on the RHONJ: After Show, where the cast talked about Paulie and Dolores‘ relationship.

During the After Show, Margaret claimed that Paulie is still married to his ex-wife, so he and Dolores can’t get married.

Margaret said:

“As far as I know, Paul’s not divorced. I guess it’s hard to get married if you’re not divorced. You could give rings. I guess that’s why you can’t get married if you’re not divorced.”

Naturally, AllAboutTRH reached out to Paulie Connell directly for clarification on Margaret’s claim.

Paulie Connell confirmed to AllAboutTRH exclusively that he is “not divorced yet.

The Ireland native told AllAboutTRH in a statement:

“I am not divorced *yet* but obviously, I [have been] separated for many years. A document to finalize the past or set the present is not preventing myself and Dolores from planning our future together in any way or form.”

To be clear, Paulie and his ex-wife have been separated for over a decade. They share two sons together.

Meanwhile, Dolores made it clear on the After Show that she doesn’t need to be married or be Mrs. Paulie Connell to feel committed in her relationship.

“I don’t have to do things like that,” Dolores said on the RHONJ: After Show of both her kids needing to be “married to live together” with their partners.

“You don’t have to get married. Whatever you guys want. You speed at your own drum,” Teresa Giudice said in agreement.

There is a small paragraph quoting him. I think there is an article on Reality Blurb plus I found one in the Sun that says his wife filed in 2020 and quotes from him about why he didn't do anything with it. Sounds to me like he had no reason to even though his wife filed but we'll see if he does anything because of Dolores. He started seeing Dolores in 2021. I think it is great the cat is out of the bag. Dolores may be happy but she isn't 25 and she needs and deserves better even if she doesn't want to marry him. If his wife wants a divorce, that should be a good enough reason, IMO.

First of all, his name is Paul, not Paulie. Frank started calling him that and sometimes the others do, too. (However, maybe he likes it.) Otherwise, well now he has incentive to proceed with a divorce! His ex may be ready to go through with it, too, since he is on TV living with another woman. Dolores is getting older. If she is going to be sharing a life, home and finances with a man, eventually it would make sense for him not to be married to someone else for her security should he die or not be able to work and need a lot of care after being with her for years (later on).....He already had heart surgery. (Thanks for the spelling correction, SU).

I think Dolores knew she would at some point and welcomed it. She didn't want it out but during the scene with Frank and the kids it was obvious there was a reason for why the kids reacted the way they did. Dolores won't even speak up to Teresa so she won't do anything that might cause a problem with her new love. Marge did her a favor. The season is almost over and now the pressure is on for Paul. He needs the pressure to be on!

It wasn't Margaret's place for sure but this isn't exactly real plus it is being filmed. At the very least she knew someone would since he said he had a ring. It should have been her. I'm basing my opinion on how Dolores avoids conflict but also how frustrated she probably is living with a married man. Plus it wasn't on the show. I didn't watch it so I'd have to see Dolores' reaction to have a better idea. Because of the cringey way she and her kids acted when he said he had a ring then that was when she should have let it out herself. She didn't because she doesn't have much backbone too often, but I think all in all she is not mad at Marge plus she could have had one of the kids say something but they just looked uncomfortable.

Did you watch Margaret on the after show? She was snarky and in my opinion mean spirited. Again it wasn’t he’d place to say a word! I stand by it !!

I saw a clip but I really don't know where or how to watch the after show. ? Is it after the show is filmed or aired? Since I commented I read an article about it and after seeing his quotes about why he didn't act on his wife filing for divorce in 2020 I get why Marge did that even though it wasn't her place. I get why she'd be snarky toward him, too because of the article I read in the Sun. People get tired of Dolores being a chump. Based on his quoted words, he comes across like the stereotype man who wants his cake and eat it, too.

If I were Dolores, I would have already known Marge was going to say something to explain the weird scene with the family get together. If Dolores was being Dolores she would be a little glad it was brought up because it puts the pressure on! Dolores will NEVER make waves but she'll take help.

I didn't see it but if she isn't upset I'd say it is because she knew it was coming or it was a relief that it was out there but it wasn't her kids or Frank and certainly not Dolores that let it out. According to an article in Sun, the wife filed twice in 2020 and then it goes on quoting him about why he didn't do anything about it. Assuming the quotes were correct, it put a whole new light on him, at least for this viewer. Dolores never stands up for herself so I'd guess that whether it was right or wrong, Marge couldn't stand it and blabbed.

Me, too. Marge did her a favor. She had the perfect opportunity to say, "Why do you have a ring since you already are married?" But she didn't want to make waves. So Marge helped her out even though it wasn't on the show. He needs some pressure. EDIT: By the way, I want to announce I have a devoted follower that followed me to another site today, May, 13, and downvoted everything I commented on, even though they probably agreed with some! I agree. Maybe Delores wanted this out to slow Paul down. I still think Paul mentioned the ring to shut Frank up and lay his claim to Delores. Marge and Delores are close friends. Delores is always paired with Tre but they aren’t close.

Oh, you are right. Didn't she say something about the cart before the horse? Dolores is so good at this reality TV stuff. She doesn't lose her integrity yet managed to keep the job this long. Can't say that about any of them except very few that some consider "boring". I found an article in the Sun about it and after reading it I can totally see why Marge butted in. I searched "Paul on RHNJ divorce wife" or something like that and it came up. I must say, after reading what he is quoted saying about it (further down), he reminds me more of Frank and not liking him as much as I did!

She denies that she keeps an arsenal on people, screams at others for speaking to her former friend about things that are none of their business yet has no problem outing Bill Aydin without regard to the pain it would cause his children, outs Paulie for not being divorced, etc. Who did she speak to for all that info about things that are none of her business? She is a snake and a hypocrite. And like with Rinna...it's time for Bravo to get rid of that toxic trick.

Ugh Margaret!! I watched her on the aftershow comments on this. She was ( in my opinion) pretty snarky , kinda mean spirited , about this. Not her place to say anything. She ( in my opinion) is a real snake.
