RHONY Spinoff: Luann de Lesseps Sets the Record Straight

Bravo

Luann de Lesseps was recently spotted “on edge” in the Big Apple amid reports about the much-anticipated Real Housewives of New York Legacy spinoff. On Tuesday afternoon, Luann was spotted reading The Post at Match 65 Brasserie on the Upper East Side. “She was definitely on edge,” an eyewitness told Page Six. The spy added that the Countess was “chit-chatting away” on her phone while “pacing back and forth at the bar.” Luann then addressed reports that RHONY: Legacy is “dead in the water.” Luann reveals to PEOPLE that “it’s true that negotiations have stalled on the series”; however, she notes, “that doesn’t mean the show is over for good.” “I always said, ‘Never count out the Countess,’ but in this case, it’s, ‘Never count out the New York City Housewives,'” she explained. “Bravo is a genius at reinventing the wheel,” she continued. “They’re breathing new life into RHONY right now, and I have no doubt they’ll find a way to bring the OG’s and beloved New York City Housewives back together again. It may be not right now, but I have faith in Bravo and trust that they’re going to create something really spectacular that the fans will love in the near future.” “Sometimes in life, a pause is needed,” the cabaret star. “For the moment, it’s not going anywhere but never say never.” Rumor has it that Luann and Jill Zarin were pushing to get more money per episode for RHONY: Legacy. Apparently, Kelly Bensimon and Sonja Morgan were ready to sign their contracts, but the same couldn’t be said for Luann and Jill. “[Zarin] pushing for a big payday was the straw that broke the camel’s back,” a source told Page Six. Luann, on the other hand, was also pushing for more money but was willing to sign in order to move the process forward.
