Turns out Dorit and PK Kemsley’s October 2021 home invasion wasn’t the first time the reality TV couple were robbed.
I’ve been watching old seasons of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and last night started season 9 of the franchise.
While watching episode one, I was shocked to hear that Dorit and PK were robbed between season 8 and season 9. While the RHOBH couple were away from home, their home was robbed, and all of Dorit’s designer bags and jewelry were taken.
I honestly don’t remember this story at all! I was honestly gobsmacked to hear this.
Dorit initially opened up about the robbery to Erika Jayne. The Pretty Mess singer noted that she and her then-husband Tom Girardi had been hit five times by robbers.
“I had a really, really shitty few days. We had something happen that sort of tipped my world upside down. We were away, and we discovered that we had been robbed. All of my handbags. All of my jewelry. Every single thing. They got everything,” Dorit explained.

While continuing to dive deeper into season 9, I noticed that Dorit mentions the robbery several more times, but I think it was overlooked due to the Puppygate drama.
I posted the above clip on Instagram, and some Bravo fans remembered the drama while others had no clue about it.
One fan explained that this robbery was done by a group of people pretending to be real estate agents and that the cast of Million Dollar Listing helped catch the thieves. I don’t know how true this is, but it sounds plausible.
“I think they caught those guys. I think they were pretending to be real estate agents robbing during open houses & somehow the Million Dollar listing guys helped catch them,” the RHOBH fan commented.
When I did some digging, I found a 2019 article from PEOPLE that revealed the suspect was caught by police after the suspect hit several high-end homes.
According to PEOPLE: “Benjamin Eitan Ackerman was taken into custody for allegedly stealing millions of dollars worth of designer goods and art from multiple Hollywood Hills homes over the past two years. His victims allegedly include Usher, Adam Lambert, and Jason DeRulo, as well as the Kemsleys.”
Ackerman targeted “high-end celebrity homes that were for sale,” according to police, who say he posed as an interested buyer or real estate broker during open houses.
“People didn’t challenge him when he walked into their houses. When he showed up, he was dressed to the nines. He acted the part,” LAPD Detective Jared Timmons said.
Talk about crazy; I can’t imagine being robbed twice – so scary. I don’t believe for a second that Dorit and PK’s most recent robbery was an insurance scam, as some have alleged.
