Source Reveals What Caused Jen Armstrong’s Split From Husband Ryne Holliday; Claims RHOC Played Role

RHOC alum Jen Armstrong calls of divorce

Turns out Jen Armstrong’s split from husband Ryne Holliday has a lot to do with their time on the Real Housewives of Orange County.

The RHOC couple’s less-than-perfect marriage was documented on season 16 of the show. After filming wrapped on season 16, Jen and Ryne temporarily split but ultimately reconciled.

However, they officially ended their marriage in May 2022 when Jen filed for divorce.

“Jen has been trying to tackle some communication issues she and Ryne have been struggling with for quite some time,” a source tells E! News.

“After being unable to overcome these issues,” the insider continued, “Jen recently decided it was best to move forward as co-parents, rather than husband and wife. Their kids have always and will continue to be their priority as they learn to live separately.”

The source hints that RHOC may have played a role in the split.

“While Real Housewives of O.C. did not contribute to any problems between Jen and Ryne,” said the insider, “it did force them to observe how they interact with each other.”

Moving forward the former couple will do all they can to make their divorce “as non-emotionally as possible” for the sake of their kids. They also plan to remain in therapy.

Another source added, “While they are sad, they know that this is best for the time being.”

A rep for Jen noted: “Jen and Ryne are focused on their family, and currently are getting along well. “

RHOC is set to return for season 17 in late 2022 or early 2023.
