Look how far they’ve come!
Nowadays, glam squads, designer wardrobes, and over-the-top glitz is the norm when it comes to Real Housewives; however, that’s a far cry from the early days of the long-running Bravo franchise.
In the beginning, Real Housewives were all about sky halter tops chunky jewelry – including statement necklaces and chandelier earrings, tight pants, tracksuits, and low-rise jeans. If that weren’t enough, there was also the infamous bolero cardigan, Louis Vuitton Speedy, and functionless belt. Such simpler times, for sure.
Andy Cohen recently acknowledged that the fashion during the early days of Real Housewives was beyond terrible! According to Andy, the ladies all looked like they were going to a PTA meeting.
“In the early of Orange County, the fashion was just terrible,” the Watch What Happens Live host told Vanity Fair. “If you look at the first few years of reunions, Orange County, Atlanta, and New York, they were basically wearing — I don’t even think what they would wear to a cocktail party. I think it was more what they might wear to a PTA meeting.”
As the franchise progressed, so did the fashion, which is now full of fabulous beauty looks and designer duds often put together by professional stylists.
“I think people have loved seeing what they wear now,” Andy added. “They were meant to be aspirational, and that’s what they are.”
