It was a shock to many of us when we found out earlier this week that Real Housewives of Orange County star Lydia McLaughlin was leaving the hit show after only one season. Lydia opened up about her decision to Celebfield telling them what lead her to make this major decision. She says, “I know! It’s a crazy decision. Just a lot of inner decision that I knew inside. I just wanted to do what was right for me and my family. Bravo has been amazing and has been a great family to be apart of but I just felt like I wanted to have another baby and do different things within my family.”
When asked how Lydia’s co-stars reacted, she pointed out that she told them the same day that it was released all over the media so she has yet to receive any texts back. Still, Lydia says she hopes they miss her adding, “I hope they miss me! But it doesn’t mean its the end of our friendship, it just means that it’s the end of our TV friendship for this season.”
So does this mean Lydia will come back to the hit show? She reveals, “Yea! You never know. I heard Dina Manzo is coming back to New Jersey and she had a five year break so who knows?”
I’m still saddened to see Lydia go because she was starting to be a favorite of mine and a breath of fresh air. But it’s also nice to see that she isn’t the typical housewife who’s obsessed with being a reality star and was okay with leaving the show. Are you going to miss Lydia?
